  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

JD Vance's visit to Vermont ski resort interrupted by pro-Ukraine demonstrators after Zelenskyy exchange

Vance, who brought his family to Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont, was greeted by a half-mile gauntlet of protesters holding pro-Ukraine signs Saturday. There appeared to be hundreds in the crowd.

The protesters carried signs calling Vance "Nazi scum," accusing him of being a "traitor" and telling him to "go ski in Russia."

Fox News was also told Vance and his family planned to stay at a four-star inn near the resort, but they moved to an undisclosed location after seeing the ruckus.

Harassing a man and his family on a skiing trip is not a peaceful protest
Sure it is. Was anyone hurt? Any property damaged?

A man’s family was endangered.
No, they weren't. Unless you count the risk of a papercut from all the people holding cardboard signs by the side of the road? Spare me the hysterics.

A half mile line of protesters is not a safe place to be with your family.
”The protesters carried signs calling Vance "Nazi scum," accusing him of being a "traitor" and telling him to "go ski in Russia."
I wouldn’t feel safe there

A man’s family was endangered. Apparently you have no problem with that
lol, this must be that old-fashioned masculinity that Vance goes on about. Being confronted with protesters apparently now constitutes being “endangered.” I’m so glad we have the New Right to show us betas what it’s like to be a manly man.

Why not? It's not like they were throwing things at the vehicles, making threats, or otherwise engaging in violence. Vance and his family were safely ensconced in their armored Suburbans, surrounded by Secret Service agents. There is no indication that anyone thought they were in any danger. Uncomfortable? Sure. Inconvenienced? Sounds like it. But that's how you make a protest effective.

Oh no, they said mean things! Dang 1st Amendment!
I wouldn’t feel safe there
I watched the video in the OP. Didn't seem the least bit threatening to me.

ETA: And you still haven't explained how this protest shows intolerance.

I've heard this before. I didn't mean to offend you in our previous conversation.

Unarmed protesters almost overthrew the government remember? Was anyone checking for bear spray and flag poles?
