What does that even mean?
Thanks for your encouraging post. This is really what I'm most concerned with and my main reason for hoping for a vaginal birth when I have another baby. My recovery was SO difficult with my son. It took me so long to feel normal again and to even be able to exercise without pain. I'm sure it was topped off by the fact that my husband didn't get to take off work so I was stuck alone with a baby and a giant gash in my stomach.Even though I tore, the recovery was cut in half for what it was with the c/s!
It actually varies from hospital to hospital here. For example, my midwives are fine with VBA2C but the hospital only allows VBACs after 1 c/s.Here in the States, it's the Doctor's call, not the hospital's, on what you can and can't do for your birth. I'd check into that and see if it's the same in Australia...
Public. Are you going public or private Called2Grace?
Just curious... don't know if there will be any difference in what they will say...
Ah... cool!Public.
It will be at Maitland.
I made sure I was in shape by doing aerobic excercise and my doctor performed perineal massage for a good portion of the hard labor. Most importantly, I prayed everyday for a normal birth with no complications and held faith in God that he would make that happen. Even though other doctors were trying to scare me out of a VBAC, I had peace about it from God. I ended up with my preferred doctor (very supportive about VBAC's) and had a perfect delivery! There is actually less of a chance of something going wrong with a VBAC than with a C/S. Good luck and I'll keep you in my prayers! Thanks for your encouraging post. Did you do anything special to get ready for your VBAC or did you just go with a supportive doctor?
