So, who all has played it? Who all has heard of it?

It's a fun tabletop RPG, and I'm set to start running a game this upcoming Tuesday. And if any of you all are interested, I'd like either to bounce storyline ideas off of you guys, keep it generally updated, ask for inspiration, etc etc etc.

Also welcome would be stories from your own games ^^

I've played the video game years ago (I probably still have it around here somewhere). I always thought it was more interesting than the normal vanilla vampire stories you hear these days.
I've SEEN people playing parts of the video game, but never actually played it myself. It looked rather interesting, but I could never find a Mac version, so...

And I HATE the normal vanilla vampire stories, and even worse, the new Twilight crap. That's actually one of the reasons I'm running it, a bunch of old friends have fallen to the sparkly side and after a bit too much gushing I just said OKAY THAT"S IT I NEED REAL VAMPIRES TO GET THIS TWILIGHT CRAP OUT OF MY HEAD I"M GONNA RUN A MASQUERADE GAME.

Wow, is that game still around? Yes, I've played it, and I've met and partied with the creators of it... let me tell you, they were some strange cats.

Well, they're on the next edition now, which is called Requiem instead of Masquerade, and I don't think it's nearly as good. So it's kinda still around just like D&D 3.5 is still around, even if the books aren't being made anymore people still play it coz it's awesome.

And dude, knowing the people who made it and such gives you MAJOR props in my book ^^

I played the Pencil and Paper version. Apparently you're supposed to live like a vampire and get stuck in intrigue... But my friends did stuff like build weapons specifically for killing vampires like a super soaker with holy water... A gun that fires off sawblades to cut off vampire heads.... a 6 barreled stake gun.

The adventure went off the axis when at the first gathering of vampires, our party killed or chased off most of them.

Not really into any of this stuff, but I really miss the days when vampires just killed people. As opposed to going to high school and hooking up with some top end jail bait. I mean really: you're a vampire that is loaded, and has had 100 years to practice your game, and the best you can do is a high school girl.

never played role playing games
but i do like vampire stuff
Likewise, my RPG interest is pretty much limited to *older* Final Fantasy games and Pokémon. I do enjoy some good vampire fiction, though.

Twilight doesn't even rank when it gets compared to Tsukihime or Hellsing, on pretty much any of the points it shares with other vampire stories. It's kind of embarrassing, ok, a lot embarrassing.

I guess to a Mormon housewife the bad boy is a vampire, who is also stable, with several college degrees, a lot of money, and excellent family relationships.
