  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

too bad you think a pretty woman has more value ... I even pity the pretty woman who never gets to have her real value validated....

sooner or later, almost everyone gets old and loses their "beauty"...what I am learning about the human body as it ages is fascinating but not beautiful in the traditional definition of the word....

I had a patient this week who had a stroke about 10 year ago. She is paralyzed on half of her body and basically dependent on everyone else for her care. True love is the husband who is up at the hospital almost non-stop with her...doting on her. I walked in and he was trying to change her gown because it had 3 spots of dried blood on it... He asked that I help her find a particular show at a certain time because they always watched it together and talked about it. She was not a beauty...but when mentioned her husband, she glowed and became beautiful. I'd rather be her than any model in a magazine because her value is significant ... if even to just one man.

Well,to be fair,I can say that beautycan come from within, and shine outward. I once had two co-workers. C, was beautiful on the outside, but not a pleasant person to be around. She used to whine so much, that on some days. She started to look less pretty.

J,on the other hand, was very average looking. But,as the years went by,she stated to look better. She had thatinner beauty that was beginning to shine outward.

Now,I did not say that a beautiful woman is more valuable that an average looking woman.

Don't worry, Exit. I know you don't just judge by appearances. Their financial situation is probably more important because you will kindly "forget" lesser beauty if they don't touch your checking account. Even better, if they will spend their money on you.

Being that I love music so much,I would like to share part of this song from the group,"Earth,Wind, and Fire"
This song help inspired me to move to Hawaii after my first divorce.

"
{We want to take this moment
To run down a couple of things
About things we see everyday
Now, I want you to stop!
Whatever you're doin', just stop!
Someone is after you, you know
They say
"There's beauty in the eyes of the beholder"
You know which I say is a natural fact
'Because you are, as beautiful as your thoughts, right on!

You know like, widows for instance, you know like we study
All kind of cult sciences an' astrology an' mysticism, world religion
So forth we did and like
Ah, coming from your place
All these things help
Because they give you an inside to your inner self
Have mercy!

Now there's an outer self we gotta deal with
The one that likes to go to parties
One that likes to dress up
Be cool, look pretty, all ego trips and all this

And so I Hear you all
I'm trying to tell you, you gotta love you
Gotta learn all the beautiful things around you, trees and birds
And if there ain't no beauty
You got to make some beauty, have mercy!

All people are valuable; they don't lose their value. Infinite God Jesus died in their place. What value does that make a person? Yet if a person does not live up to worldly standards, some of us say that person is not as valuable or has lost value. What is more valuable than a person? But so many talk about what we can get from another person instead of asking how we can serve them.

Saying that others are less valuable means you are shaming them. People who don't live up to standards read these lists and it makes them feel like losers. They feel they are not valuable themselves. But that is what many actually believe and say, showing no love.

Yes that's true.
I feel valuable without having someone, although I can't live up to those points. I know myself and the situation I'm in. Mr. Perfect couldn't even deal with that. That's not true, Jesus can deal with it. I yelled at Him and He still loves me.

Would you not think, that if someone like Eienstein was around today,if that person found a cure for AIDS,just as Dr Salk found a vaccine for polio, that that person would not be very, very, valuable to us?

Many Jewish people are known for their intelligence. How many of those 6 million Jews, killed by Hitler, and his Natzies, may have been smart scientists, who could have been a great service to us all?

Just because some does not have a great talent, does not make them a loser. GOD has given all of us different talents. For example,I may not be able to paint like Michealangelo, sing like an opera singer,do physics like Sir Issac Newton,or even play basketball like Michael Jordan. But,that does not make me a loser.

I can draw blood very well. My first year was in 1973. Not bragging, but many patients have told me that they did not even feel the needle stick. I bet you Michael Jordan cannot draw blood as good as I can. Being a male,Michael Jordan might just pass out at the site of a needle. In my 42 years of being in the medical field,I have seen men pass out more than I have seen women pass out. In the Navy, quite a few jet fighters would pass out while getting their blood drawn for their physicals, When I saw "Top Gun",I smiled as the actors were walking around as if they were not afraid of anything. Al Capone, the gangster, was afraid of seeing his own blood! He was afraid of needles. That was why he waited too long to get treated for syphilis.

So,between the two of us,(Michael Jordan and I) who would you want to draw your blood? Also,If you are playing basketball, who would you want to have on your team?

Yes, I am multi-talented. However,I could not "carry a tune" even if the tune had handles on it.

Value is not determined by what you do, but who you are.

So, if someone found a cure for AIDS,today, would you consider that person as being valuable? if you had AIDS,I am sure that he would be very, very, very valuable to you. I bet you the family,of the man that was shot in the back by that cop, feels that the man who took the video of the shooting is a very valuable person. Value can be determined by who you are, also.

It's two different things. You can also be of value, but with 'how valuable are you?' I think about the value you have for God. You can be of more value to His Kingdom if you give everything.

Look how valuable she is and He just takes her to heaven. She could have been of so much value here I would think.

@Messy

I remember when I first saw Dustin Hoffman talking about this thinking, how is it that this man who doesn't even claim Christ can “get” that like that? I was just amazed. I thought wow! There's such an abundance in life that comes with that kind of revelation. I don't think you can tell people though. I came into that very early in life because of my health...

I have decided I'd rather be smart with good instinct than beautiful and a size 7. I got to save a man's life last night with those traits. Also got to say a few cool things like "fire me" as I went around protocol because my gut said we didn't have time....not planned, just what i said as I made what turned out to be very good judgement calls. It is amazing how fast someone can go from being "normal" to critical in the right situation.
