"Valentines Day"

I don't know who started Valentines Day, but it sure wasn't a widow.. This is my first without my husband of 43yrs. I wished we could just skip it. I may just go buy a dozen yellow roses for myself lol... I know that Jesus will see me thru, he is my "soulmate" since mine went to live with him. God Bless Helen

I know it's hard. I was married for almost 25 years. It is perfectly fine to do something nice for yourself. Treat yourself. I bought myself a ring and I plan to buy myself candy too! I know it's hard and the Lord will comfort you.

We always ignored Valentine's Day because our wedding anniversary is February 19th. We combined the two. I am going down to the shore on Monday, returning Wednesday. Just need some time to myself.

Valentine's Day is difficult. My husband committed suicide on Valentine's Day this year.

We have six children! I was struggling with how to handle this so that they won't grow up dispising this day.

God told me to tell the children that Valentine's Day isn't the day that their father killed himself but that Valentine's Day was the day that their father went, in person, to God and Jesus and personally handed his heart to them.

So we're trying not to be sad on that day but to rejoice because their father is home.
