  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It is very scary Dave; we must be our OWN advocates,
and continually review our own health care/accurate reports :o
May God direct our steps now, and bless us when we need help in this down the road

Thank you Gail Sis'

There was, a time, down there in Bristol
that specialists announced that I might have-to have my right leg amputated
[below the knee] because, I had no detectable 'pulse' at my ankle

Fortunately however, my arteries/veins, grew new tissue \o/ \o/ \o/
and my circulation was restored [around the blockages] before I came to Manchester

There were also occasions [before that] when, I felt that my days
were VERY FEW
These, were prior-to, the angioplasty procedure, that unblocked my ILEAC arteries [bilaterally]

Only after this procedure, did I have 'hope' [restored] for a longer-life \o/ \o/ \o/

I can say, with absolute certainty.... that I have no fear of death
I accept, that I can be 'taken'.... at any time [any moment]
and I feel no anxiety [dread] whatever

[What will be, WILL BE]

His word, and our faith in it [Him] and His Loving Grace
gives us all the reassurance we need... to LIVE here [for a time]
and with Him... Forever [thereafter]

Oh for sure Dave ~ I agree 100% .....having been there in my past serious illnesses too
As a response to your previous comments about the inconsistencies in your health records, I was just commenting on how we must be an active participant in our own healthcare
(as part of the Lord's healing as He wills); and to also be advocates for or elders.
It can be mind boggling ~the treatment options, insurance issues, finances ....so many considerations and concerns, and when you are infirm (and aging) you may need help is discerning the right steps to take; it is difficult enough for us...of good minds and semi-good health.
And as you said...in all things, the Lord IS with us..... and all is well in His perfect will, and grace, and providence for our lives

I received my VERY-FIRST 'Flu-jab' yesterday
and, at the same time, I was also given a jab against Pneumonia

I was told
that I may suffer a slightly painful discomfort in my arm for 12 -24 hours
Thankfully, I have received no such discomfort

Mary's arm ached until late evening
but, she mentioned that the symptom may also be 'psychosomatic'
~just because she expected to be, no-different to anyone else

\o/ all done... The pneumonia jab ~is, "for life long protection"

We get our flu shots on Monday...they usually make our arms sore at the injection site.

The pneumonia shot was sort of painful, but I don't remember having a sore arm afterwards.

I did get a red skin patch from the shingles shot...no heat, no itching. I quit putting my mite killing solution on the injection site and the red is fading fast...hubby got no reaction at all.

I am thankful for these new vaccines...we still have much to face in the way of health problems, some things we will hopefully miss.

There have been quite a few people in my family that got shingles. When my parents heard about the vaccine they got it and suggested to all us kids that w get it too. So I talked to my doctor and he said I had to wait till I was 60. So I got the shot within a month of when I turned 60. No symptoms. Now I pray it works.

That's interesting. I wonder why your doc said to wait until you were 60? Granted, most insurance companies probably won't pay until you're 60, but I wonder what the medical reason would be?

I think our TV adds say 50 and older is the target group for the shingles vaccine....here I am 66 and hubby is older, we are just getting them...but our insurance paid fully for mine on a referral from the doc. Hubby paid $40.00 at the pharmacy for his. His nurse with a different dr was not very happy when i requested a refferal for him instead of a prescription...we went ahead and used the pharmacy.......but the refferal did come thru for him a week later.

I just know people, friends and those who have known others who got shingles, it can be pretty aweful in some cases....yes, I hope the vaccine works too.

~ Some 'conditions' in older people [and even the medications they take ??]
seems to make them exceptionally vulnerable to infections that younger bodies can 'shrug-off' [tolerate ?]

It seems logical therefore, that some blanket protection
will #1.... reduce infectious contacts in the environment
and #2... provide 'older-persons' with some anti-bodies to certain infections
ie: those, persons whose lives would otherwise be threatened
were they to contract the infections
