  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Who's going on vacation this summer? My husband and I just got back from Florida, we decided to take a trip alone before the baby comes. I was a little worried about flying because I usually need some motion sickness meds but my doc didn't want me to take it this trip. I did great though other than the usual nervousness of flying. It was a great trip!

In a few weeks we'll be driving down to South Padre with my whole family which should be interesting. It's an 8 hour drive and with me being pregnant it will be a bit longer due to my bathroom breaks haha. My brothers are gonna hate me lol. My doctor was going to give me the verdict on my motion sickness meds for this trip at my next visit, I'm crossing my fingers because I get carsick pretty bad. She was pretty positive about it though so I'm pretty sure she'll ok it.

Is anyone else traveling, looking forward to it or dreading it? Have you traveled while pregnant yet? How did you find it?

I LOVED traveling in my 2nd trimester. No more morning sickness, the baby is up a little higher so not as many pee breaks, and I just generally had a Lot more energy. :)

Traveling in the 1st & 3rd trimesters were always hard for me (unless it's the very end of the 1st or the very beginning of the 3rd) so I typically avoided long trips then.

I'm pretty sure I'm carrying low because I feel like the baby is pressing on my bladder quite frequently. But you're right about feeling great in the 2nd trimester, it is much better to travel now!

If we weren't always struggling with even enough money to buy milk each week...I would so go on vacation with my hubby. Our toddler has been weaned for about two months and I know my mother in law would take off of work to watch the kids. My husband and I have never even stayed alone in a hotel together. I would love to go away with him for a week before our new little one is born....

I think I would wait a few more weeks though until I wasn't quite so exhausted!

Singing4Him--- I hope your car trip goes wonderfully and you have a great time!

Oooh, if you're going to South Padre then you'll be near us!

I haven't traveled while pregnant but my sister just got done flying over here to Texas from England for a visit. She was 25 to 27 weeks pregnant during the trip and said she had no problems at all.

When my Aunt died 3 weeks ago I asked about traveling, because I have had bleeding I wasn't allowed to go on a plane. He'd actually prefer if I didn't go too far even by car.

So the farthest I'm going is to a city an hour here where my specialist is and it's got motherhood maternity. :)

I am going to try to fly home for Christmas and I will be 6 months pregnant. I'm really looking forward to it :). My husband may not be able to get off work so I'll probably go alone, but it'll be the only time my relatives will get to see me pregnant because I live so far away and I want my sisters to be able to rub my tummy :)

I traveled to HI while 3 months pregnant...then I went by car on the rest of my vacations.
With my second child I traveled to HI again (5 hours) by plane while I was 5 months pregnant...We all go the stomach flu first and second day there...that was hard!!!

You poor thing...heh. You're very brave :D Leaving the island when I'm 6 months is going to be a LONG flight...9 hours to Texas and another 2 to Kansas. I'm going to be one exhausted girl.

John and I started planning last year to spend labor day weekend camping in the U.P and doing the 5 mile walk across the Mackinac Bridge. I'm still going to try it, but instead of camping we'll stay an hour away at my uncle's house. I'll be 32 weeks and it will be a 4 hour car ride day one, 1 hr day 2, adn we'll be home on day 3 or 4.
