My kids attended 3 VBS this year. Our church had in it in morning and two other churches, of friends and relatives had evening sessions. How about yours?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Vacation Bible School

My children have never attended Vacation Bible School. As a full-time office-worker, I don't have the flexibility to drop them off an hour or two into my work-day, and pick them up after a half-day to take them to alternate care. Most VBS are designed with a schedule other than mine in mind for the parents of their students.
This year, actually, the schedule would have worked out, since I needed half-day care due to the peculiarities of the ballet-school's schedule, and made special arrangements at work to take half-day vacations. But the children declined the opportunity because, in their experience from Sunday School, the leaders of the VBS were the teachers who tended to choose simplistic curricula and to oversimplify lessons for their audience.
Having been raised atheist, I don't have any fond memories of VBS. I do have not-so-fond memories of being patronized by nice Christians who talked down to me 'way below my comprehension level, so I was sympathetic to their arguments.

Our 4,6,and 9 year olds went this year. I so like the morning time better than the evening VBS as the kids were Frazzled at the end of the day when I taught at evening VBS 2 years ago.

When I was akid we had VBS in the mornings...that was sooo wonderful...IMO but i realize the evenings may be better for some..my 2 year old daughter attended one at our church this year in the evenings and she was soooo tired as well as me too
