  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What if you were the one that forgot or didn't know to password protect your wireless until one day you get a court summons for illegally downloading music or get investigated as part of a child porn ring?

Someone using your wireless is not just stealing bandwidth that you paid for, they are stealing your ISP address and you could be responsible for what they do with it.

One of my neighbors didn't know to password protect their wireless and I came across it one day. The thought of saving myself some money and piggybacking didn't even cross my mind, I went and let them know they needed to password protect it before someone did start stealing it.

Your brother and sister are currently thieves if they are using someone else's wireless without permission. If you ask your neighbors and they have no problem with it that would be ok. But doing it without permission is theft, plain and simple.

Seeing as you're catholic though, here's a suggestion. Go ask your priest and see what he thinks. All my meager blessings says he'll tell you it's stealing and if you're doing it you need to confess it this weekend ;)
