• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

why is it suddenly okay in our times for Christians to use one another for sex without a full gift of self?

if a man cannot wait until the right time to be with his wife--whether to achieve or avoid pregnancy--then how can he claim to have self control?

Thats simple, they just do not share your definition of the right time.
You know, the definition that was drawn up for ancient goat herders back when women were property that would drop in value if 'defiled' so couldnt be sold at as high a price at the wedding.

Separation of sex from procreation.

No reason why they had to be joined at the hip (oo-er).

The rhythm method is one of the least effective means of avoiding pregnancy.

Besides, it hasn't been "suddenly" unless you mean 50 years ago when safe and reliable birth control became widely available to women (in most states - it was illegal for a while in some).

Are you really condemning marital sex for pleasure and intimacy? Even the Catholic Church gave in on that point.

Sex is a bonding activity as well as a way to produce children. The feelings between a couple grow stronger and therefore they have a better chance of staying together to raise the children. That's what I'd say to a conservative. To anyone else, I'd say that what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home is none of our business.

Yes í'm sure the truth hurts and you have to lash out. Don't worry I wont report you this time. But in the future be alittle more respectful.

I don't see the comparison
If I understand it right..
The idea is that if you do not have the self-control to stop yourself from spending the money you are trying to safe.
Why should a bank think that you have the self-control to pay back the loan?

I am all for delayed gratification, but sometimes the moment is right during ovulation. That is one reason why people use birth control to avoid unplanned pregnancies.

I do not subscribe to the belief that contraception is bad. It is not guaranteed to work ever time, but it has a significantly higher success rate than unprotected sex.
