Using God...

Hey,
I gots a question, when don't i?, hehe..but anyways...Christianity has started seeming very trivial to me lately...i mean...you live, you screw up and then you say "oh I'm sorry God" and live then screw up...over and over...but it just seems so useless...why even bother thinking about trying to do right when you know that when you screw up all you have to do is say "sorry god" and move on...just seems so stupid and redundant and useles...

Well, the bottom line is how far do you want to go with God? Do you want to know Him from the very depths of your heart? Do you want to grow in Christian maturity and show forth the Fruits of the Spirit? Do you want to be used in service for others in the Gifts of the Spirit? Do you want to be a witness to the world of Christ's love, redemption, forgiveness, and power? Or...would you just be satisfied being saved, knowing you are going to heaven, comfortable, and want to live your life as you please, without concern for God's plan for your life or for the salvation of other people or their spiritual growth?

It's your choice, friend.

It looks like your the victim of a "feel good" church.There are some ministers who keep talking about God's forgiveness and almost never mention hell even though Jesus talked more about hell than almost any other topic.In fact it was He who threatened,MANY WILL BE CALLED BUT FEW CHOSEN.It's also important to realize that the only tmes that Jesus became angry occurred when He encountered hypocrites.Unlike some ministers,this is what Jesus commanded:GO AND SIN NO MORE.Continually sinning just won't work.In time the Holy Spirit leaves sinners,their faith fades and they become ashamed to keep going back to God to ask for forgiveness over and over.The way to go is to ask Jesus for help to overcome sin.THROUGH CHRIST ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.Go for it!

saying sorry to God and then sins again, and eventually feels so useless that one wants to give up.. i've been in that setup too, but i realise that giving up is only an excuse. Giving up makes me see what God really means by that "Sin separates men from God". To give up is to truly be separated from God, for even you refuse to help yourself anymore.

trust God. As long as you really intend to try harder and show it in your action, a miracle will happen.

You have to learn from your mistakes and then be genuinely sorry about what you've done. I used to find myself committing the same sins over and over. I've found that if I find a verse that the Lord directed me to during my "quiet time" with Him, and repeat it any time I feel weak, the urge to commit that sin passes.

Just keep praying and ask for strength, His walks not the easiest... but it's sooo worth it in the end

There is a three step program guaranteed to cure your problem:

1. Read the Bible - God will speak to you through His word

2. Pray - Talk to God. Be honest because He knows the thoughts and intents of your heart and loves you anyway! Listen to Him, He will speak to you in a still small voice.

3. Fellowship with other beleivers - Share your struggles with others and you will be amazed at how many have dealt with or are dealing with the same things as you. It helps to have people praying for you and to be praying on behalf of others.

Dependance on Him is the ONLY way. You can't do it on your own.

Yes. Don't ever give up. That's the best I can say.
It will begin to make more sense in a couple of years.
But without writing on for forever...don't give up.

Look at this logically, and you'll see more good than bad coming from the way you are thinking. You are experiencing "doubt", so you have to reposition your mindset.

Logically, if you don't know what your sins are, or when you are thinking about them...you can't ask God for help. You can't repent and ask for strength. You can't even contemplate the right path if you don't know what sins are. Pat yourself on the back for knowing what a sin is. Thank God for showing you the things you have to work on...and you ARE listening because this wouldn't be on your mind if you weren't listening to God!

Now, think about the blessings God has given you thus far. Think about "blessings in disguise" too, because those are often attached to lessons we didn't know we needed...please notice God PROVES to us He can't bless our sinful paths and we usually eat crow because of it. Incentive to choose the right path, eh?

When we sin, God will forgive, but he doesn't have to bless us as much as he would have if we chose the better path. Think of the great rewards God has given you, and WANT more! Keep thinking about the things you've SEEN God do for you, and know these were done because of the good in you.

EVERYtime you are tempted to sin, think and pray about the great rewards God has given you in the past, you'll get all warm and fuzzy inside...and the temptation to sin will ease off. Pray for strength and wisdom when you KNOW you are having second thoughts on something...God put those thoughts in you to think about, so LISTEN!

It's hard to deal with the same temptations over and over, but God is working with us...and think of what a great milestone that will be when you finally overcome each of your struggles! I love my milestones, and I appreciate more in life, and I take less for granted. I thank God that I can stop and smell the roses now, and I thank him for all he's put in my path.

When you are stuck on something, that feeling you have about having to try again is God's hand on your back, trying to put you in the saddle again . Thank God for even having the desire to WANT to do better! God doesn't want you to give up, he's pushing you along so you can achieve another milestone to reflect on .

God's Desires:

a. "truth in the inward parts"

b. "wisdom in the hidden parts"

God desired to provide more than just forgiveness, He also desires:

a. Total restoration, with understanding and wisdom on our part

b. That we be equipped for faithful service

Confession of sins should also mean....

"For Renewal And Restoration":

To blot out all iniquities - Psa 51:9

A new heart, and renewal of a steadfast spirit - Psa 51:10

Continuation of God's presence and Spirit - Psa 51:11

As We Confess Our Sins...

1. We should look to God for more than just forgiveness!

2. We should also ask for:

a. A complete renewal and total restoration!
b. A return to "the joy of salvation" (that joy experienced when we first obeyed the gospel! - e.g., Ac 8:35-39)

For God desires more than just forgiveness, but total restoration - cf. Psa 51:6

--->And zealous service is indicative of true repentance, as taught in 2 Co 7:10-11

"The Art Of Confessing Our Sins" includes that we"....

-->Pray for God's purposes...

As we confess our sins...

1. We should not be selfish, praying for only our needs
2. What about God's desires? His purposes?

-- As Jesus taught us in "The Lord's Prayer", it is important to pray for God's will as well as our own ( "Thy Will be done on earth, as it is in heaven")
