The Secret Service signed an 'emergency order' this week — for 30 golf carts

The Secret Service signed an "emergency order" this week to rent $45,000-worth of golf carts in the town of Sterling, Virginia, where President Trump has a golf course, The Washington Post reports. The 30-cart fleet, which the Secret Service is renting through the end of September, was described as being necessary in order to protect a "dignitary," although the president was not explicitly referenced by name.

Surprisingly, while many nonessential businesses around the country have closed to prevent the spread of disease, Virginia's Trump National Golf Club remains open. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) allowed for golf courses to continue to operate so long as golfers keep a six-foot distance from others. The Virginia club is a favorite of the president's; he has visited it 76 times since taking office, most recently in October.

Cost wise...who cares? Meh.

But.... I'd be curious about other restrictions and if that's consistent: Are people permitted in parks? other sports fields?

Also, and this could go without saying.....2 people in one golf cart are NOT physical distancing properly.

According to the article, even though they're nonessential, the governor is allowing the gold courses to stay open as long as people practice social distancing... which, admittedly, on a golf course, shouldn't be too difficult.

After all, heaven forbid the wealthy be inconvenienced... a pandemic is no reason one can't shoot the back nine.

Also, and this could go without saying.....2 people in one golf cart are NOT physical distancing properly.

Which would explain why they ordered so many -- one per customer.

30 carts for 45,000. that's 1,500 per cart for five months worth of use. 300 a month. or roughly 10.00 a day.

What's the problem?
Wait..are they going golfing everyday for the next 5 months? I feel like things would get said.
