  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

US problems

Which generation is to blame the most for our problems?

  • The baby builders, WWIers, (ages 67-100)

  • The baby boomers, Post WWII, (ages 45-66)

  • Generation X, the brat pack, (ages 23-44)

  • Generation Y, the ADHD club (ages 0-22)

  • It goes back even before these.

  • The worst is yet to come.

I voted that the baby boomers are most to blame here in America. That is my generation. We are to blame for the genX-ers and and genY-ers lack of comprehension about the struggles of life, we fed them wrong with too much sugar and french fries because we mothers no longer took the time to prepare healthy meals of fruit and vegetables. We did not encourage healthy living and healthy loving as we should have. We created t.v. and plopped our children in front of it and it became our children's nanny. We promoted loose morals. We did not teach respect for all people, especially honor your parents. And most of all, we made it look like life was easy with too much leisure and not enough work ethic. Kids of genX were cast into the deep end of the pool without swimming lessons and ended up drowning, but not before having offspring themselves who were conceived by unhealthy bodies... rant, rant, rant. I could go on and on.
What an honest answer. I appreciate your opinion. Very powerful.

The very fabric of society is being torn apart. The powerful are reaching absolute power and they will rule the world, with every drop in the financial world, they gain a new footing. The next drop will be in the next three years, in which they collapse this society and in desperation, the people will clamor for their solution.. not that the people like it, but because the powerful are offering the only one avenue as the solution.. Three years of chaos and turmoil will have the public grasping for any solution. Sold .. to the highest bidder.

visionary,

It happend once before in a country called Germany. Along came a man from Austria and proclaimed to be the savior for all people in Germany. His name: Adolf Hitler.

Off the topic, but are you saying Hitler was the anti-Christ or just someone who we should learn history from and not follow just because he has "answers"?

I chose it goes well before these because it was many generations ago when early Americans decided that there was no room for the natives banishing them to reservations and causing them untold suffering which exist to this day. It was also many generation ago when early Americans decided to import human beings from Africa and reduce them to the level of livestock causing them similar suffering which also exist to this day. Spiritual law says what you sow you will reap. In sowing to the God of greed early Americans did to others what they certainly would not have wanted done to themselves. Generation after generation have not repented for these actions and now it’s time to reap what we sowed.

Wow, awesome, just awesome.

I was going to say the gen X'ers (like me) who saw my single mother go to work every day to provide for me but did not take that example and do the same. Instead like most of my friends did just enough to get by, dropped out, did odd jobs, got by, landed on mom's couch, got by. Never really made a real contribution. Now some of us are getting it, going back to college and working in our mid late 30's working hard and going back to school but GenX'ers many of us learned the hard way and are going to college now with our children who think we are slobs. No form of retirement nest egg or anything like that. Of course there are always exceptions. Alex P Keaton and Such

Ya know...Just sayin' Mom did her best, We didn't even try until we got sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I have chosen this topic as my first post on the Christian forums. I think the question is problematic because it divides our country into generations as though each generation is unique. That is simply not the case. We are one nation, from the youngest to the oldest, and there have been good and bad from all ages. In my opinion our society, influenced mainly through advertising, wants more and more far beyond what we can afford or the government can deliver. We need a cutlure based on loving one another and being content with what we have, as God has spoken in his word.

I blame myself for my problems. I don't blame anyone else.

True but I'd wager you did not cause the country's financial crisis and declining moral standards, rising divorce and single/teenage parenthood rates. Lowered educational standards. Higher obesity rates, addiction, violence, etc.

That would be a big job for one guy......

Well no, I wasn't that busy hehe.

I was busy creating my own financial crisis and declining standards and divorce and addiction and all that other stuff.
In fact, I've broken every one of the ten commandments in my life.
Those are the things I am accountable for and repentant of.

Now I worship Jesus and preach the Gospel.
That hardly leaves time for me to worry about some other person, or "group" of people. I have no reason to worry about what someone else did.
God will deal with them in His way, it's none of my concern.

Peace

Oh I agree completely. We all need to place blame on ourselves because we make our own decisions. But reread the question, it is not asking who is to blame, it is asking who is most to blame. But as quoted below:

True but I'd wager you did not cause the country's financial crisis and declining moral standards, rising divorce and single/teenage parenthood rates. Lowered educational standards. Higher obesity rates, addiction, violence, etc.

One generation just may as well killed all of us.
