  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Godsgurl,

There is no way that you are responsible for someone else's bad choice. The friend decided on her own to take drugs. This is not your fault! Trust me as someone who has dealt with many close friends and relatives that are either drug or alcohol addicted they may try to blame their choice to drink or do drugs on you, but it is ultimately their choice.

Please do not carry this burden or do this to yourself.

God bless
Roberta

There's no reason for you to never have a friend you share your porblems with. It is, however, one of those unfortunate facts of life that all our friends are human, and make mistakes from time to time.

I think you made a good choice though in looking here for some place to share your troubles. Hopefully you will find friends both on and offline to help you through this, and also perhaps you get your feet back under you so you can be tehre for your friend who started up on drugs. Don't take responsability for her. You can't help her if you load yourself up wiuth responsabilities you cannot fulfill. Rather, instead of taking false responsability for your friends own behavior, simply support your friend emotionally and encourage your friend to get help, keep seeeking help, and get off drugs.

First nad foremost, though, you need a healthy attitude, and taking responsability for other people's actions is unhealthy. It can even lead to "co-dependence", which is a whole other issue. Take responsability only for yourself.

You can't control others, nor are you called to do so.

:) Please take care of yourself.

Ok kiddo,
you must eat...what you are describing sounds like psychological transference, and you must try to see the situation in a different light, from a third party perspective. I know that you are trying to feel the pain that you believe you have caused someone else, but Godsgurl, you have caused no one else harm or injury! we are all responsible for our own actions here, and this person obviously has some issues going on in their life, and you clearly have nothing to do with these honey...really, baby I would be brutally honest with you. I am going to help you through this, you are NOT alone. I am walking beside you through your pain, but it is not your fault. I know you can hear that a hundred times and still not believe it. I am praying with everything I have in my heart for you. I am here  EAT!
Love and blessings to you

There is nothing you need forgiveness for in regarding this situation! I am telling you how it is, and you must EAT! you will get ill and weak without proper nourishments and we'll all be worried about you! Spend some time in prayer, you may feel refreshed and renewed in spirit! Once again, you really have done no wrong, I know you are beating yourself up over this, and it is going to be even harder for you, I am praying for and with you! EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
love and blessings to you

I am praying for you too Godsgurl. Something I always do when I have a hard time forgiving someone is to pray for that person.

You are having a hard time forgiving yourself.

Say a prayer asking for the strength to forgive yourself.

I agree with the other posters who say you didnt do anything wrong. You didnt. Holding things in is just about the worse thing you can do. They build up and eventually will find a way to get out. Like not eating.

God loves you and is crying for you to embrace His forgiveness. May you be blessed
