  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am a fairly new Christian. I realize that I have a lot of spiritual exercising to be done. I have found a wonderful church that literally lifts me up and invigerates me each and every week. I leave there just saying "WOW!!! That was amazing!!" I go home, I pray daily. I read my bible daily and do a personal devotional daily and a couple times a week I do a couples devotional with my girlfriend who is also Christian. The problem I seem to have is that as the week wears on my excitement just seems to wither away. I dont want to blame it on friends or work because my walk is truely up to God and myself but I struggle with trying to keep the enthusiasm that I leave church with every Sunday.

I guess what my question is what do some of you long time Christians do during the week to keep you excited in faith?

To be honest, I am a absolute horrible Christian. Unfortunately I spend most time on gaming, doing useless stuff, I almost never read my bible and I'm to lazy to go to church. But apart from that, I download alot of episodes from Getalifemedia.com , by a pastor called Billy Crone which does some wonderful bible studying about who God really is etc., and feel really blessed by them. What makes it better is that you can search for it in the podcast section in itunes and throw 'em down onto your ipod. Sorry for going off-topic for a moment.

But let me lift you up: Everytime you feel that you don't have enough faith, go to Romans 12:3 and read this up to yourself:
"I've given everyone a measure of faith." God bless bro!

Well ... this ... plus working with a class of kids who, some do and some don't "get it". Turning lights on for others is one powerful way God invigorates me.

I missed a meeting this Friday. Bummer for me, personally.

Music is useful if it's informative.

Some pastors are really good to listen to.

I'm a big fan of Joe Novenson: Sermons :: Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church

I don't look for excitement, but by faith and devotion to my Savior I enjoy the peace of walking with Him, and as I read His Word I find communion in discussing His Word with Him. He opens up much to me. We have a beautiful relationship, though I do fail Him a lot, and do confess it regularly.

Do you have a very personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, or is He just a Teacher that you try to follow. Be sure of your salvation, and look up always!
