A few days ago I was trying to replace my 4th generation i5 CPU with a 4th generation i7 and I broke my nearly decade old motherboard. When I removed the CPU I noticed that some of the pins on the board were bent the wrong way, so I tried to bend them back and they snapped like dried twigs.
I was going to upgrade the PC later this year, but Christmas came a little early I guess...
Here's what I purchased:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- bequiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU cooler
- Corsair 16 GB RAM kit DDR4 3200
- Asus B550-F Gaming motherboard
- HP gaming mouse pad
All together it cost around 650 Euros.

I didn't need to upgrade anything else.
