  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A few days ago I was trying to replace my 4th generation i5 CPU with a 4th generation i7 and I broke my nearly decade old motherboard. When I removed the CPU I noticed that some of the pins on the board were bent the wrong way, so I tried to bend them back and they snapped like dried twigs.

I was going to upgrade the PC later this year, but Christmas came a little early I guess...

Here's what I purchased:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- bequiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU cooler
- Corsair 16 GB RAM kit DDR4 3200
- Asus B550-F Gaming motherboard
- HP gaming mouse pad

All together it cost around 650 Euros.

I didn't need to upgrade anything else.

Yeah that's the one downside to Intel Processors from Gen 4 and up. You can just breathe on the CPU socket pins and they break. Lost so much money over the years learning how to "Properly" install an Intel CPU.

ASUS ROG Mobo. Nice! Dunno why I love ASUS'S ROG series so much just all around great motherboards.

Yeah I really like this board, one of the best I've ever purchased.

Yup definitely worth the money. I overclock my processors and ROG mobos do a great job at that. I like that intel and AMD has started offering overclockers insurance as well. For $20 US you can have your processor covered from overclocking damage. When I pay $400+ for a processor it makes it worth it.

I just wish they'd start offering bent pin or builder negligence insurance they'd make millions on policies lol.
