Update on Fr. John Corapi

This just doesn't seem like him to just pack up and leave just from accusations that haven't been proven (at least to my knowledge).

It's very saddening, but I do pray for him...

i read another blog where someone stated that the most shocking of all his statements, after his defiance shown to the bishop was to tell people not to send any letters nor communicate with the bishop

why would he do that ?

it makes zero sense

Given all the judgmental stuff and people jumping ship do you all think that handling differently might have been better? It's clear from what I seen and what Fr. Corapi (can't just call him John, doesn't seem respectful to me ) is not leaving the Church or anything and just preaching without the facilities as a Priest. When I contacted him through twitter he told me to stay in the Church and he still loves the Church.

Here I thought I was going to just type one sentence

will black sheep dog do a ministry in a diocese where the bishop tells him his services are not wanted and needed ?

if the bishop tells black sheep dog to take a hike and black sheep dog will not do it, will you defy the Church ?

I think you are skimming more than reading the things you post about...

There is no objective valid reason - the key word is objective.

He has a court case. . that is where the trial happens, not in the public eye.

There is no need for us to know the details for him to have a fair trial, actually for her to have a fair trial, for he is not being taken to court, she is.

In fact, by disclosing such details and impugning her character in such terrible ways, wether he is right about his impressions of her or not, could actually work to deny her a fair trial, for these accusations and assertions are becoming widely known, through his own efforts, and prejudice those chosen to determine her guilt or innocence.

Thus there can be NO OBJECTIVELY valid reason to disclose her sins to thsoe who did not know of them.


Revealing the content of these tapes, revealing her character flaws, her sins, DOES NOT PROVE his innocence. It makes him look vindictive, self serving, and cruel.

They were voicemails left on an answering machine.

I can't find anything to substantiate that. Do you have a link?

As I said, perhaps he believes being tried in public, which his accuser knew would happen, warrants a public response and defense.

It was Corapi who went public. On Ash Wed no less.

That it is in the public eye is his doing. Not the accuser's.

One cannot justify bringing harm to another to protect themselves publically from something the one seeking such protection brought into the public eye themselves.

This is just a web that keeps getting more and more tangled the more Corapi says about it.

We don't even know if the accusations are valid or not. . probably not, nothing has been proven one way or theother. I hope and believe they are probably not true, but that is neither here nor there.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

In that case he could assume he has sufficient foundation and valid reason for airing the recordings and such an airing would be just because no false judgments would be made.

False judgements? By who? Does the public need to know so a Judge and jury can come to a right judgement?

He may assume, and I am sure he does. However, that does not make any such actions as are being taken to defame her in the public eye, objectively valid. We have absolutely no need to know for the civil case to move forward.

The reasoning for supporting anyone in such an endeavor is extremely faulty.

The reasons given above to excuse this behavior have no merit in Catholic teaching.

Again, I personally hope he refrains, but I'm not privy to everything he is, either. If you feel that passionately about it, post it to his blog. There is a lot of traffic about that very issue.

I am fine right here thank you. If he's not going to listen to others on the matter, he won't listen to me either.

All I can do in that regards is pray for him.

not us- black sheep dog ?- corapi is the one attacking his bishop anr the process and resigning; doing all of this while telling us not to contact the bishop and saying he is going to minister to the entire world

if you dont like the thread then dont participate in it

if we dont know the full facts then blame corapi for that too

we will never know the whole truth but that does not mean we should not be able speak on the matter without people coming in here demanding censorship, belittling, making accusations about the behavior of others, and calling for thread closure

if you would like, as others have done, you can start another thread about detraction tearing apart and mocking other people who want to use this site and have every much as right to use it as you do
