Hi guys, so I met with an Orthodox priest for a chat about my desire to become Orthodox and it went really, really well! We had a very good discussion for a couple of hours, it was very relaxed and hugely beneficial for me. We discussed some practical matters, how much I know about the Orthodox faith, we set out a basic prayer rule for me to follow just now and he also told me some amazing stories from the lives of the saints. I had brought some icons with me and he blessed them for me in the chapel, which was brilliant. They even have a tiny relic of St Nektarios of Aegina there which I was given the opportunity to venerate! It seems to be a bustling community, with loads going on.
What really pleased me was that he was very orthodox (small o) in what he was telling me, there was no modern variations or anything like that. He immediately told me I have to have a spiritual father to guide me, and said that we can be in constant contact if need be.
Thank you all for your kind words and advice, I greatly appreciated it. I had prayed to God that He would grant me a positive experience and He did! I know this is just the start though, I've got a long way to go!
