There is a man who is expecting to die soon from cancer. He isn't conscious a lot of the time. A woman who has maybe met him once before got his phone number from someone and she sent him this message.

Hi [dying man],
This is [name and how she is connected]. I have been praying for you with a friend who is a man of God and the Lord gave him this word for you:

The Lord showed me that you are angry at God and you blame God. You are confused and hurting and it has made you bitter towards Him. This is a place to humble yourself before the Lord and ask His forgiveness. And hand over all that bitterness and resentment so that He can save your soul.
Often when we are in impossible places it reveals our heart motives. It exposes the inner truth of our hearts.
When we are being broken it is an opportunity for us to be broken before God and to turn to Him when there is no one else to save. But when we find ourselves in this place and we harden our hearts towards God it is a very dangerous thing.
Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.
Apparently the dying man goes to church when he can but I think he is a very liberal Christian. The man's wife wrote

This is what she sent [man].
I'm not reading it to him
I told the woman's mother about it and she said she is going to tell the woman to only pray and not send any more messages. A reply from the woman:

Hi [me],
Sorry if it's upsetting, that wasn't the intention but I just shared what God wanted him to know. Eternal life is a serious matter. True love speaks the truth that saves the soul. Praying for [the wife] and family too. I know it's a difficult time for them but I encourage her to read it to him. He can hear even when unconscious. God is not willing for any to perish but He gives us all a free will to choose. Xx

What do Christians think? Never offend people when giving the gospel message? Be careful? Or do everything possible in order to save others from hell?

Oh I guess I guess I can go with saint Francis' comment of "Preach the Gospel always, and when necessary use words".

I think it is better to earn the right to be heard, and demonstrate the Gospel. At some point the words are good and matter and necessary, but too many times I think people have an idea about Evangelism that is basically Multilevel marketing for Jesus.

The Gospel message often offends for it exposes the sins of peoples hearts and makes them responsible for it. The Gospel also offers us salvation through Christ.

i think we have to be careful to always minister the Gospel to people and not push it down peoples throat. Yes some will get offended when we speak about the need for Christ in their lives.

To accuse a dying man with what God has revealed to me i would refrain from doing though. i would just operate out of such knowledge rather than try and play the prophet.

Some people hate Christianity and any teaching about salvation so much, that they will block their ears to it, and try to stop it from being spread around.

i think the good news needs to be shared with all people in genuine love and concern, regardless if it offends them, for our Heavenly Father does not will anyone to perish but all come to the saving power of His Son Jesus.

That letter is highly inappropriate.

He goes to church and is a presumed "liberal Christian". Is this really about trying to help someone, or trying to proselytize to someone with sectarianism at a vulnerable time in a person's life?

I agree that all too often, evangelism is reduced to heavy marketting. You put a feather in your evangelism cap, but you could end up poisoning a relationship permanently.
