CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Naturalism is an assumption, and is therefore Unscientific and Anti-Intellectual, Anti-Progressive.
Science is The Observation of Nature, which is Pro-Progressive, Pro-Intellect and Pro-Reason. The Observation of Nature provided us with food, shelter, clothing, transport, communications, health, safety, entertainment, etc,
Not a Close-Minded Assumption that things only happen by Natural Causes or that Nature is all that there is, this is holds us back scientifically and is not free thinking and open minded.

Seems to work out pretty well, putting men on the Moon, letting us communicate instantly although we are on different continents, and stuff.

In a nutshell, it gives people hope for something better than they have in this life. And as most people's lives are unsatisfactory in one way or another, that is a particularly enticing and juicy carrot to dangle in front of people. People don't want cold facts, bare reality and unpleasant truth, they want comfort and assurances that everything is going to be ok.

Naturalism didn't put men on the moon, Knowledge did, Knowledge and Observation was the tool that helped us understand how to build a spaceship and survive on the moon. observing nature and objective knowledge helped us develop long distance communication, not being close minded, sitting back and assuming everything can only happen via only what we are allowed to see, if we were on naturalism we'd be far back,
If we assumed naturalism is true before phones and that we can only communicate directly since it's All that was known at the time(basic naturalistic assumption), then we would never have developed long distance communcation as we would assume(naturalism) that there's nothing beyond talking face to face.
If we assumed via naturalism that since we are on earth and there's nothing beyond it, that we can't go to the moon, then we would never go to the moon as we would assume(naturalism) that we can only stay on earth.
Naturalism is no good, we would never have accomplished anything thinking there's nothing beyond what we know or that things happen by only what we see, when there is more than we can ever know.
Science is observe and report, nothing else, not assumption and observe, you cannot Discover something new(Science) when you already assume you know everything(naturalism).
Everything, The Observing of Nature(Unnaturalism) has given us Medical Cures, Wisdom, Technology, Easier lives, Entertainment, etc.
