No, but I needed to ask "on the record," so to speak, considering the policy memo I received from the Theology Admin. I'm not going to waste my time composing responses to people who close threads on the OP's whim before I can hit the "post" button.

I'm through with posting in threads that are going to be closed on a whim.

Isn't there a verse which says hell and death will be thrown into the lake of fire?
Would not that annihilate them?
I honestly don't know, do we know everything about what happens?

I guess the question is, what does to be swallowed up mean.

I'm still interested in discussing the benefits or drawbacks of Universalism especially as relates to evangelistic efforts.

From an evangelistic effort perspective, it renders evangelism unneeded. Why GO! and preach the Good News if everybody is saved? Why GO! and preach the need for a savior from sin and destruction if everybody is already saved? Why GO! and preach repentance if everybody is saved?

Universalism and all that it stands for run contrary to the purpose of Jesus Christ dying on the cross and Commissioning His people to GO!

I answered according to the question... what is the point of preaching to the unsaved, and why not go ahead and sin now, if we believe God saves all. That's what you asked.

Everyone is happy? I got the impression a lot of people would be disappointed to hear that their chosen villains were going to escape justice.

I kind of think the good news is that there is forgiveness of sins.

Repentance seems normative for the forgiveness of sins. Given some of Jesus's acts of forgiveness in the gospels, however, it doesn't seem to always be strictly required.

We'll address the aspect of specific faith in Jesus Christ also, I'm sure.

Universalism spreads the good news of the Gospel...

That the Grace of God has appeared bringing Salvation to all men

That God will have all men be saved and come to the relisation of the truth

That Christ has paid the Sin debt of all of Creation on the Cross at Calvary

That this will be testified in due time.....

We are the only teaching that is in line with what the word of God actualy says...right accross the entire Bible.

I think we should do as you suggested way back and just not talk to those who have brick walls completely fencing them in... and their only response to scripture is 'lie, lie, lie'...
