  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, you're right. And Lady Trekki is right.

But the problem is overwhelmingly due to a few non-Conservative Christians who became members under false pretences.

What can be done about that other than to ignore them--which never seems to be the case--I don't know. I do know that merely saying "Welcome" to anyone who drops in and says something like "I think I belong here. Can I join?" has not worked very well.
I agree

Hello everyone...

I've been seeing some disturbing behavior in our forum the last few weeks and I think it needs to be addressed.

This forum is about uniting Christians. We are all wearing different "labels" whether we know it or not. We've all been raised different ways, with many different views on Christianity and what church is the RIGHT church.

This is NOT the place to debate who is right and who is wrong. It's a forum to focus on what we have IN COMMON as Christians. It's too easy to give in to division. It's too easy to argue. It's too easy to allow satan a foothold.

I've been blessed to see the fellowship we've had here. It's done my heart good to know I can come here without arguing my faith. There are other places to do that if that's your desire. Don't bring it in here.

I'm not speaking to any one person, but to us all. Anyone is allowed to be a member of this forum if they agree with our statement of beliefs. If you find you just cant help yourself and have to argue about what doctrine is the correct doctrine...your in the wrong forum. Do we allow for debate among the membership...yes. But should that be our goal? NO! See...there's a difference between making a point vs. making a war.

Please...I beg you. Allow this forum to continue to be peaceful and united.

And we have a lot in common:thumbsup:

We can keep CC a place of peaceful fellowship, respect for our brothers and sisters in Christ and love for the Lord. We just have to decide individually that that's our goal and work to achieve that same goal. Each of us is responsible for our own behavior - so I for one need to look to myself first and foremost and change my behavior that isn't Christ-like.

edit - I noticed after the fact that this was my 5,000th post. Personally I can't think of a place I would have rather posted #5000 than in CC

I agree with that completely!

I suggest we have a new way of doing things. When a person asks to join CC, have them make their "find all posts" available for 24 hours. A quick view of their posts would show if they were conservative or not.

Hmm. I wonder what you would make of mine then as I tend to avoid the denominational forums because of all the bickering? Mostly I play in less fraught areas because I get slammed too much if I pipe up & say things like bikinis aren't modest.

I don't argue.

I express my opinion, I'm jumped all over for it and when it appears I'm right, I'm attacked and called divisive.
I don't rememebr ever seeing a post of yours before this thread. In this thread it seems that you are doing nothing but argue. So this post of yours struck me as ironic ... rather like the person shouting "I"M NOT YELLING" at the top of his lungs!

But thanks for illustrating the OP's point.
