CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They don't believe that Jesus Christ is God but rather a powerful mystic and healer. The believe heaven and hell are simply states of mind. They don't believe sin is something that separates us from God. They believe in reincarnation. They do not believe in the Lord's supper. They believe the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures are the main religious text used by Unity followers. However, all writings of all world religions are respected. By definition they are not christians since they don't believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ.

a family member of my husbands attends a unity church. i dont feel close to them to ask questions so i came to the forum to inquire about the belief system of unity.
we go to a wonderful christian church.

My step-daughter attended one and the Lord used us to get her to the truth....He made sure to impress to me to not 'attack' her church...but to speak truth to her. You can research the church and see the beliefs...it's all about metaphysical stuff....They do NOT believe Jesus was the lamb of God who died for our sins....they will say, however, they are Christians. Her church never read from the Bible. Charles Fillmore started it in the 1880s. Really pray about how to witness....and get to know the enemy a little through reading...it's a well-devised religion...meant to look good, but is very deceiving. She left, became a Christian...but did go back and visit. Praise God she got nothing out of the service. She missed the people...but now she has the true God!
