[The Southern California - Nevada proposal argues that, throughout history, marriage has been an evolving institution, pointing to earlier times when polygamy was biblically normative, women were considered property and interracial marriages were not only taboo, but illegal.]

The above is a quote out of that article. It shows that if polygamy ever started to come back....the UCC would throw it's support behind it as well.

As a UCC member, I applaud them for promoting equality and love.

I am a seeker who is attending a UCC church. I appreciate the UCC's support of gay rights and it's Open & Affirming policy. However, I have a problem with the church ordaining non-celebate homosexual ministers and marrying same-sex couples.

I'm almost willing to look past this, since in almost every other way this church fits my beliefs.
