firstly I'm very sorry If I'm posting this in the wrong place... I'm new to this. I'm 18 and a new Christian, I am beyond terrified of this sin in Matthew 12:29-32 and fear I have commited it.... I seriously thought to myself a small while ago what if the Bible was a lie and the trinity were satanic.... I quickly dismissed it from my thoughts when i thought of scripture. It seriously scarred me and I don't want to go to hell :( I need serious help please..... this is probs the worstmy thoughts have ever been.... please help me

Do not allow your MIND to cause you such anguish. It loves to beat us up with thoughts fed to our brains, and we must fight the MIND at every step.
In the Bible, note please that God is Love, and beyond that, God is Neutral Spiritual Energy, which means he is the Absolute in Forgiveness. Literally, ask and ye shall receive is not rehtoric, it is a fact.
Peace

No Christian can commite the unforgivable sin for the simple reason, that the unforgiveable sin is not to be a Christian.

Remember what Jesus went through inorder to save you. Do you really think that after going through what he did, he is going to let you slip away from him.
It is he who is holding on to you.

What does blasphemy mean?
Online dictionary = the act or offense of speaking sacrilegiously about God or sacred things; profane talk.

In the Koine Greek = slander, detraction, speech injurious, to another's good name; impious and reproachful speech injurious to divine majesty

vilification (especially against God):—blasphemy, evil speaking, railing. G988 Strongs.

With those definitions in mind, could one blaspheme and be a saved Christian?

Can God forgive someone who does NOT repent of blaspheming?

If you WERE to repent, will God remember any sin against the Christian?

Don't let people here fool you, we are all sinners every day, even if you don't know what you did that day to sin.

Romans 3:23

1 John 1:5-10

When we pray to God, we ask for forgiveness of any sins we have committed knowingly and unknowingly, in Jesus' name. The scenario you describe here is nothing to worry about for a Christian that consistently goes to God in prayer and asks for forgiveness for any transgressions.

You have not committed this sin. If you had you wouldn't be so worried about it.
Excellent post.
Plain and simple.
People would have to be conscious and deliberate about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
The unforgivable sin is not something that can be done by accident.

So, to the OP, carry on, love God, read your bible and have confidence that a heart in search of a relationship with Christ has not committed the unforgivable sin.

I fear I have also committed this sin. I saw a video on youtube of someone speaking in tongues, but I never heard anyone speak it so I thought that it was something restricted to Jesus time. So an evil thought (i dont want to say it) popped in my head about the speaking in tongues video. Pretty much suggesting that the person wasnt acting in the Holy Spirit, because youtube sometimes has fake stuff. Then I started telling God that I didnt mean that. And i was trying to say out loud, "it was not evil" but it ended up coming out as "it was..." And i paused. Then i panicked and kept saying its not evil. But how do i know if the person was speaking in tongues or not. It did sound like a language i never heard before, but how do i know? Im just scared that I blasphemed the Holy Spirit because speaking in tongues comes from the Holy Spirit.

Another one that worried me more was when I would get thoughts tormenting me saying that the Pharisees accusations against Jesus were true. Im sure I have OCD because I doubt everything and I started doubting these thoughts and I had to answer my doubts. So I typed into google the blasphemous thoughts in my head. Does this count as blasphemy of the Holy Spirit since I aftually typed it out(not as a quote)? I was just tryijg to find answers that Jesus was God and was filled with the Holy Spirit because my mind wouldnt stop doubting.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is different than when you Blasphemy God using his name as a Curse word, ect. This is a misconception among most people, if this was the case then tons of people would be going to hell without ever getting another chance and it would be something alot of Christians who were not Christians before would have to go to hell for since it would be impossible to be saved after that point, so them becoming a Christian could not even happen in the first place since they cannot be saved from that sin.

What that sin is, is not using God/Jesus's name as a curse word, most people or should I say the average person thinks that is what it is talking about, but that is not what Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is.

When someone commits Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit there is no hope for them any longer. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is more of a rejection of God where in your heart/soul/mind and with all your strength you REJECT GOD and want nothing to do with him even after having 100% knowledge beyond shadow of a doubt he exist, the reason you cannot be saved at that point is because the intent and purpose in your heart is to REJECT GOD for eternity and thus it is impossible to be saved for that reason.

Maybe that sounds a little confusing so let me make it very simple for anyone to understand

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit would be like the following examples.

Imagine if you were Moses or the people or a person who witnessed the miracles of God happening right before your eyes. Imagine if in person you seen Moses split the red sea in half and you knew 100% with all your heart/soul/mind and strength this was the doing of God.

If you were to BLASPHEMY God and reject God at that point it is UNFORGIVABLE because you have denied God and want nothing to do with God even after seeing all the miracles, all the signs, all the wonders done in front of you.

There is no more hope for you, you had all the knowledge of God and you still rejected it and want nothing to do with God.

THAT is what it means by blasphemy of the holy spirit.

It is like Lucifer who rebelled against God in his presence.

Lucifer committed Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and therefor there is NO HOPE for him, he cannot be forgiven becasue Lucifer rebelled against God in the PRESENCE of God with 100% knowledge that God exist, that God is the supreme being, and yet still tried to rebel and wanting nothing to do with God.

Those are examples that better explain and give you an idea what committing Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit would look like if you had to imagine it.

It is not just saying God's name in a bad way or cursing God

It is REJECTING GOD COMPLETELY with no intention to ever have a relationship with God, denying God in his undeniable presence and denying the Holy Spirit to ever come into your life to guide you to want to do good.

Imagine if you were God, imagine if you gave a person miracles, signs, and performed all the wonders to let them know you are God, and yet they STILL reject you and want nothing to do with you.

At that point you are lost, if you would not accept God and Obey God at that point there is NOTHING anyone could possible do or show to save you or make you or want you to be saved and obey or have a relationship with God.

So no, if you are seeking God and want a relationship with God that is a sign you have NOT committed blasphemy of the Holy Spirit because if you did you would want nothing to do with God.

That is why it is UNFORGIVABLE, because there is no turning back for a person who has committed that sin, they have chosen to forever separate themselves from God.

And thus God will grant them their request, God will let them spend eternity SEPARATED from his creation and everything that is of God.

OR anther way people like to put it is, that Blasphemy of the Holy spirit is giving glory to Satan saying that God did not work the miracles but Satan did, ect.

The way I look at it is, it is only logical to say if you committed the unforgivable sin it is logical to say that in that persons being they want to REJECT GOD and thus it is unforgivable because they have rejected God completely

I am not a expert on that topic per say but that is my take and what I think it means since that is the only logical way I can see God not giving forgiveness is that the person wants nothing to do with God sort of like How Lucifer rebelled against God there was no hope for Lucifer at that point because Lucifer in his being wanted nothing to do with God thus there is no forgiveness for him.

Once again I will tell everyone, I am not certain 100% but it is currently what I view it as and think it is based on logic and the bible, ect. So go look in the bible and you need to come up with the answer you think the bible states and that is most logical. Some people think it is simply claiming the miracles of God are done in Satans name, others think its something completely different. So its best that we all look into it more and try to understand what exactly it is.

A person who has blasphemed the Holy Spirit would hate God to the extent that he would be to the point that he is beyond any desire to repent and would not care about the fact that he has done so.
The fact that you are worried about it indicates that you have not committed it.

Ever since the fall, we have been in a constant battle of faith. Lucifer, the world, and even our very flesh reject God and all things Holy, but it is our love of God given and sustained by Him that saves us. I am positive that all believers have had thoughts similar to the ones you had, myself included. Lucifer will use any means to separate us from God, and our intelligence is a prime candidate for that attack.

But remember, after Jesus’ arrest, Peter denied knowing Jesus three times, the last time using curses. Yet after His resurrection, Jesus said it was upon Peter, or better said, Peter’s faith, that He would build His church. Jesus forgave Peter of his momentary lapse in faith, and He has forgiven you. The best that can be done is what you did do, dismiss the thoughts as quickly as they came.

The only unforgivable sin is rejecting Gods Holy Spirit. Your fear shows that you
accept the Holy Spirit and are worried about it's judgment. Have no worries.
As long as you don't hate Gods Spirit, your sins are forgiven.
