Actually, I think many "get it" it comes down to their faith belief needing to protected being the priority and denial to ensue.

What evolutionist don't get is evolution found in nature is not what been debated. What is debated is evolution as in universal common ancestry and naturalism.

Universal common ancestry can be seen in the fossil record and our DNA, we all share the same DNA molecule, only mutations in that DNA molecule separate us from other life forms.
We can see that only simple life forms existed for the first 3 billion years of life on Earth, those are our ancestors.

I can think nothing more supernatural than a butch of brains using their brains trying to figure out how their brain works.

I didn't see anyone create WoW. If scientist find a spacecraft on Pluto next year they would jump up and down and claim this is evidence of space aliens even though they didn't witness the aliens build the craft. I would agree as I'm not that closed minded.

There are simpler life forms then us doesn't means there is a simple form of life. The fossil record has never supported UCA as even Darwin admits this. DNA doesn't support it either since we are discovering more ORFans and singletons all the time.
