It is true, that everyone lives according to their own particular moral compass, and at times that includes some of God's laws
Im happy to quote the KJV. The English versions are enough for me personally:Careful:
(CLV) Hb 10:18
Now where there is a pardon of these, there is not longer an approach present concerned with sin.
Approach present is only one category of sacrifice. This is a very deep study with which I'm still left with many questions.
God, for he made us. For Christians we are sanctified by the Holy SpiritYahshua said that there is none good but YHWH. If there is any good in anyone; where do you suppose it comes from?

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin
This thought process is more in line with the point Paul is making in Romans 2:14, methinks. It is true, that everyone lives according to their own particular moral compass, and at times that includes some of God's laws
Well I cant start a debate about differing versions of the bible. Im quite at peace with the ones I read. And for me, if we rely on the Holy Spirit to learn we can trust him to stop us going up blind alleys when we read.I the CLV is an English version. It's also a literal version. The Torah reveals many categories of sacrifices. Approach presents are only one category.
I try to go by what the scripture actually says; not by what someone else wants it to say.
Under the new covenant, those with the law written in their hearts will have their sins and lawless deeds remembered no more. Of course most athiests have a moral compass of not murdering, stealing, committing adultery, but that is their own particular moral compass. The requirements of the law written on your heart is something else entirelyThis thought process is more in line with the point Paul is making in Romans 2:14, methinks.
Part of the requirements of the law is keeping the Sabbath holy. Do you keep the Sabbath holy?Under the new covenant, those with the law written in their hearts will have their sins and lawless deeds remembered no more. I have no consciousness of sin by not observing a specific Saturday sabbath, nor do I have a consciousness of sin if I ate pork. Through the law we become conscious of sin Rom3:20Part of the requirements of the law is keeping the Sabbath holy. Do you keep the Sabbath holy?
also, do you eat pork or any other unclean animals?

The KJV is believed by many to be the best translation of the bible into English. Over 50 eminent scholars translated it. However, I think we all at times, turn to translations that suit our own thinking, and I include myself in thatI used the KJV from the time that I was a little boy. As I did word studies, and peered into the Critical Text; the KJV just became too bothersome, too many flaws.
I pray that you get deep enough in your search for truth; that you find yourself doing the same. If you're not there yet; that's OK. I applaud you for seeking the truth; but please don't persist in arguments that the available ancient manuscripts won't support.
Something is not right if the Holy Spirit is not convicting you of sins such as eating unclean animals & not keeping the Sabbath holy. Do you test the spirits?I have no consciousness of sin by not observing a specific Saturday sabbath, nor do I have a consciousness of sin if I ate pork. Through the law we become conscious of sin Rom3:20
Therefore, there is only two possibilities as the law is in a believers heart and mind. Either that law is not within me, or I could not be a Christian. If you believe the latter to be true, I would suggest you find a believer to debate with
Just asking in response to their posts.Speck, log, careful Brother.

Therefore, there is only two possibilities as the law is in a believers heart and mind. Either that law is not within me, or I could not be a Christian. If you believe the latter to be true, I would suggest you find someone you accept as a believer to debate with
Sin is the transgression of the lawSomething is not right if the Holy Spirit is not convicting you of sins such as eating unclean animals & not keeping the Sabbath holy. Do you test the spirits?
Not keeping Sabbath holy is a transgression of the law, regardless of whether or not our heart convicts us. The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked.Sin is the transgression of the law
Through the law we become conscious of sin
What is in your mind you in your mind must know
Law in your heart MUST give you heartfelt conviction of sin if you transgress it.
Let me say this once more. Either that law is not written in believers minds and placed on their hearts by the Spirit of the living God, or if it is, the law cannot be within me, in which case I could not be in a saved state, I could not be a christian
Unfortunately, you seem unable to carry your convictions according to basic principles of the bible. For the reasons mentioned, I could not be a Christian if you are correct, neither could anyone else who has no consciousness of sin concerning the things you mentioned. The heart is deceitful, true, but God did not make an imperfect covenant. You would have to be conscious of sin if you ignored law in your heart and mindNot keeping Sabbath holy is a transgression of the law, regardless of whether or not our heart convicts us. The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked.
We should be asking ourselves why are we not obeying the law if we believe the law is being written on our hearts? This goes for EVERY Christian, myself included.
God did not make an imperfect covenant.
