Here is a fascinating talk on the Armenian legacy in India (specifically Calcutta and Bombay) by researchers Sifra Lentin Alakananda Nag, given at Gateway House in Mumbai (Bombay), the very building where Armenian-descended Indian singing star Gohar Jaan (the first to record onto disc in the entire country, in 1902) recorded some of her music about a century ago.
There is a lot of history here, and while it is sad to hear of the state of the Indian Armenian community now (it doesn't really exist anymore, according to Lentin), there is a great deal to discover and to be proud of in the legacy that this once vibrant community did manage to leave in India in past centuries.
