Everytime i think of my loved ones its saddens me that some may go to Hell. How do we as Christians deal with this feeling? If its a loved one who past away or even one who is still with me today, it breaks my heart and its really tough to deal with and think about. What are things you've done to deal with this feeling?

We believe in the infinite love of God and that the Lord does what is right. We believe in hope beyond understanding and that Christ will reconcile all things to Himself. We understand that we don't know the fate of the dead, but that God loves them more than we do.

How exactly that fits into your theology is your choice, but I think we should hope for the best because God, not satan, wins in the end. There needs to be a compromise between faith and practicality.

If God were truly just and forgiving, the dead would be judged on their merits instead of their beliefs.

this sentence is a logical nightmare.

If God were the type of God who (just) rewarded good and punishes evil and (forgiving) does not punish evil but overlooks it, then the dead would be judged because by the good that they do.

Total perfect justice cannot exist with any level of mercy and vise versa.

I believe God is perfectly just, but with this he understands that infinite TORTURE for a finite crime is UNJUST and ABSURD in the highest degree. Think about what you are saying, most Christians have been conditioned to normalized to the idea of hell, you are talking of the TORTURE of a person FOREVER simply because they didn't recognize God for which there is no contemporary proof, that and there are 613 other commands the Bible says you must follow. You must come to God by faith and in all honesty he must come to you, but if this doesn't happen you do not in any way deserve hell, what will the punishment for the bad be? I cannot tell you, I am not God. But I can say if God is just it will not be hell.

Well not really, there are (613?) commandments that you have to follow to get into heaven, that is if you are a biblical literalist. But to claim such is to be intellectual dishonest.

A born again of the Spirit experience would tell you very different and if you are honest there are not 613 commandments but there is only one that will get you to heaven If you keep the first commandment, all other commands and obedience to the second, third, etc., commands come easily and without opposition to God. The first command says to love God with all your heart. All other blunders and sins can be forgiven but not the first commandment. If you do not believe God is, nothing else counts. Believing in God is to love God.Therefor, the more you learn about God, the more you love God.

The only sin God will not forgive is to not believe that God does exist. Your worry about hell can be a threat to your peace of mind, I understand this. I suggest you go to the 7th. Day Adventist sub forum and read their explanation on hell and eternal torment. There are many interpretations of what hell is but for Christians who are tormented about hell, the real truth of the matter is very comforting. That would be my recommendation to one and all.

Biblical literalist is a vernacular term used by people who regard the Bible nothing more than allegory. Parents should never fall for this trap of evil theology. God and reality is not an imagination. There are different interpretations of what the Bible says hell is but hell is not an imagination. Hell might be an allegory but it is a real message for real life and tells the truth about the end of life. The Bible is more than an allegory. It is about God and all of its allegories are intended to show us God.

It is the philosophy of the Snake that attempts to discredit the scriptures whenever he can and this cry for comfort from an honest Christian is no place to declare the Bible is just a little more than an allegory. We do not need to confus things with the insertion of pretend Christianity. Good and Evil are real. Spirit and matter are real. God and Satan are real. Atheistic premises and the premise of God are real too. Biblical literalist is not one of God's premises, so guess to whom it belongs?
