We all know 'Christians' who believe they are on the path to heaven just because they're 'nice'. Who believe they can pick and choose what they'll take to heart from the Bible.. if they even crack it open.

How much of a Christian do you expect one has to be to achieve salvation?
Rom 10
13 For everyone, "whoever shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved."

That's it.

It is just as easy to get saved as it was to get lost in the first place.
How did you get lost? By being born.
How do you get saved? By being born again.
How do you get born again? By believing that Jesus is the Christ:

1Jo 5
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. And everyone who loves Him who begets also loves him who has been born of Him.

How do you know Jesus is the Christ? God made Him the Christ:

Act 2
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God made this same Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.

So, according to the couple of scriptures you've selected from the Bible, there is no point in doing anything other than calling on the name of the Lord one time, then going on about your merry, carnal, sinful way.. to heaven?

I believe that salvation is free for the asking. I don't think that you have to "do" anything but ask for salvation. I do however believe that when you ask for salvation that you become a new creature in Christ Jesus and the old person dies. I believe that you want to keep the commandments and do well. I believe that the changes will be evident in your actions. So, it isn't how much of a christian you need to be to be saved, it is when you ask for salvation, you will become a christian. It is up to us then to lead by example.

Upon accepting Jesus as Saviour, does one not recieve the baptism of the Spirit, the new nature?

How can one who is redeemed continue in sin, knowing that it is wrong? (Get out of sin..)

There's a verse that says something like, "Not everyone who says, 'Lord, Lord' will be saved."

And I think it's chapter 14 of 1 Corinthians that talks about Christian conduct...
