Ok, it has a M rating, is that supposed to be a bad thing?

It was bumped up to a M rating because of the 9/11 attacks. Everyone was a little more sensitive after that.
I don't think that had as much of an effect on the rating.

I've played it, and it's a rather soft M in my opinion. I played multiplayer, and only a bit of campaign mode, and I found little cursing. Of course, I didn't play the entire bit of campaign, so...

Anyway, I think it earns it's M rating, but only barely. There are certainly worse Mature games out there.

I play Zelda and its not any different in my eyes...you go around choppin' things up with your sword and hook shot and bow and arrow...

Zelda isn't really all that bad. I've yet to find blood, though I've certainly been scared in the OoT. Them Redeads are quite awful.

The only thing I find vaguely offensive is some of the outfits, and the spiritualistic tri-theism. It certainly isn't that gory.

The language, what language, the language is few and far between from what i hear. The gore is, well not very gorey really. I mean, sure it's bloody, blue, red on soldiers, but anyway, even the gorey blood is pretty much idk simple. There is no sexual content, nothing close to GTA, the language is mild, very mild in fact, that alot of times, the soldiers don't even say the words, but you imply they're there, i guess, blood is ungruesome, and you're killing aliens, not humans. From what I see it, Halo isn't even as bad as Goldenye, which was on an older system, N64, had less detailed blood, and alrigth, so it didn't have any language from what I remember, but I've seen PG movies worse then halo, i've seen Teen games, such as Splinter Cell that are worse. I have no idea why they gave this game this rating. Plus, for some reason, everyone thinks ooooh, it's rated R, it's rated M, if you play it ur unchristian that is not true. Guess what, our youth group even plays it together during camp. Crown college, a "christian college", they come to our youth group a few guys, they have halo tourneys there all the time, our youth pastor plays halo, he has halo 2 reserved. So, anyway, from what I see, halo's not bad, until society, and really strict christains start picking on it.

one its not on PS2, two it has an M rating mostly for language. Gore can be turned down or even off in the game. its a fun game good story line if you take it just at face value.
Gore can be turned off? How?

The game in my opinion is not overly violent, my little sister plays it, but the game will affect you to what you allow it. If you spend all day thinking about violent actions, as featured in the game, it may effect you.

I like the game, and it hasn't been a problem in my walk.

Halo and Zelda have so many things different I can name them all, One, it is made in japan, two, it has NEVER, I repeat, NEVER has had ANY gore. The point of Zelda is logic and puzzle solving, NOT GOING AROUND LIKE A PSYCHO SHOOTING EVERYTHING YOU SEE AND CUSSING LIKE THERES NO TOMORROW!! :o Your all a bunch Micosoft/sony fan boys if you compare Zelda to Halo.

The comment was the violence was about the same between the two games, the content is of course rather different. The violence level is more or less the same, the only difference in terms of gore is the blood splatter. It's not like there's gibbing like in Quake or UT or a million other series, and no dismemberment or what not. The blood is only splatter as well, there's no continuous bleeding.

I personally am not the most fond of Halo (though I play it often... because, really that's just a given at college), but I can't see how Zelda violence differs tremendously from Halo violence. Though Zelda does have more puzzle solving and Halo does have more violence, in either game you are likely to spend the majority of your time fighting enemy after faceless enemy.

And as for "cussing like there's no tomorrow", it's been a while since I've played the campaign, but I can only remember a few places where expletives were used, and none of them were that major.

Now, I'm guessing that you are rather young, and if you don't like mature games then I certainly don't want to encourage you to play them. But saying that all M rated games are bad is akin to saying that all R-rated films are bad. I bring up films because there are several R rated films that we can all agree to be works of art with a good message, Schindler's List for example.

heh, Pulp Fiction....great movie....

whoops getting of topic here.

to me, if it has an M rating, its like music with a 'bad message', only if you're an idiot do you let such things influence you to do such things. So i really don't care if everyone thinks its corrupting me to be more violent, at least i know its not. Sheesh, its just entertainment

it would of been better dead maybe?

Zelda has violence just like Halo, In halo its first person, in zelda do you not kill monster after monster? guard after guard? do you not use magic? some of the more recent zeldas do have $*(&@#*(&$#(*& in for some "foul" language from what i have seen. grant it the last zelda i played was a link to the past for SNES. Is not the point of zelda to be able to fill up your hearts and shoot your sword with power? to vanquish the evil of ganoon or whoever it is, and to save the princess? yes there are some puzzles in the game but i do believe it is impossible to go through the game with out killing people. Violence is violence both have it. just because halo is a first person and zelda is more of a 3rd doesnt mean it is any different. open your eyes, death is death.
