PCUSA - Ordination Standards; Marriage and Sexual Orientation

Not so long ago the press was buzzing with the news that the Presbyterian Church USA voted to allow the ordination of homosexual individuals. Though this is not necessarily an accurate description of the decision if may very likely be a potential outcome and was arguably a primary motivation for the changes.
We at the Ulster Village Presbyterian Church (UVPC) adopted the following measure in response to the denominations change.

[FONT=arial, sans-serif]We the Ulster Village Presbyterian Church Session politely but firmly refuse to participate in any ordinations of Ministers of Word and Sacrament, Elders, or Deacons that are outside our understanding of the clear teachings of Scripture and the Confessions of the Church. Concerning the ordination of Elders and Deacons in this congregation we shall abide by the Scriptures using the Ordination standards 2009-2010 (prior to the change) to reflect our interpretation of the Scriptures in this matter. Concerning the Installation of a Minister of Word and Sacrament at the Ulster Village Presbyterian Church we shall endeavor by prayer and examination to accept only candidates who meet the Ordination Standards 2009-2010 and reserve the right to refuse candidates based on these standards.[/FONT]
[FONT=arial, sans-serif] We make this declaration not out of piety or self-righteousness but rather out of respect to the clear teaching of the Holy Scriptures and the offices of the Church that were ordained by the Apostles themselves. As believers we are all sinners saved by Grace but this fact alone does not qualify us all for office in the Church of Jesus Christ.[/FONT]
