Peace in Christ.
Those who have their citizenship in Heaven (now in this earth) have set their “affections” (exercising their minds) on things above: love, peace, joy, kindness, etc. They focus on them and DO these things.
Col 3:2 KJV
(2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Those who “dwell on the earth” are not focusing on the things above.
Col 3:5 KJV
(5) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Those who "dwell upon the earth" are the people who are being deceived by false prophets who are preaching to them “another jesus” the “antichrist” and not THE Jesus who is the Christ. They “dwell on the earth”….not mortifying the exercising of their minds towards these things nor their deeds…and are serving “another jesus”…the one being preached by the false prophets.
They do not focus on the things above (the fruit of the Spirit) and have not crucified the flesh (the deeds of the flesh) WITH the affections and lusts within.
Gal 5:22-25 KJV
(22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
(23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
(24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
(25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
They are deceived into making/doing an “image” to the wild beast (the “another jesus” who is not the Lamb-slain).
Their “jesus” that they are receiving is not the Lamb that is slain but rather one that has had his deadly wound healed (no dying to sin daily required in worshipping him).
Their “jesus” is served and worshipped by the keeping of an image.
The “image” is the church handwriting of church ordinances (dogmas).
God’s commandments are written on our hearts and minds…..and any external handwriting is an “image” that should not be served and worshipped in the place of keeping His internally-written commandments.
But that is what is happening inside the churches of fleshly-minded men.
They are serving their external written handwritings (church constitutions, church by-laws, church statements of faith, etc, etc, etc) more than keeping His internally-written on-the-heart commandments.
They worship God in vain as they keep the externally-written doctrines of the commandments of men rather than His commandments that are written upon the heart.
Rev 13:14-15 KJV
(14) And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
There is no “life” in the keeping of the handwritings of the church scribes. The “letter” (the writing) kills.
Any who do not worship the “image” ….the church scribes’ handwriting of ordinances…should be “killed”….that is, be judged. They kill others with their breath…in words.
Killing = judging others using church handwritings as the standard for doing so. Those who are doing so think that they are serving God…doing Him service.
They are “judges” for God supposedly …believing the lie. They think that they judge In His “name” or authority when they judge others as “devils”….casting out devils…for not keeping their church handwriting of ordinances (their “wonderful works”).
But whoever lives by the sword (continuing to judge others via their handwritings) dies by the sword. Those who judge are themselves judged....and that condemnation is death to the mortal body.
(15) And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
The “letter” (Greek: gramma = WRITING) kills. The handwriting of ordinances kills as many judge others (“killing them”) using them as a basis for doing so. By doing so, we become “image worshippers”.
2Co 3:6
(6) Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter (WRITING) killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
They are image worshippers by their judging of others using their handwritings. They are then made slaves to the sin that leads to their mortal death. They keep judging others continually…..making them slaves to the sin. They are image worshippers…receiving the mark of the beast (another jesus)….being made slaves to sin. The serving and worshipping of handwritings is central to the worshipping of the beast (another jesus).
Rev 13:16 KJV
(16) And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
They are made slaves of THE sin.
Rom 6:16-23
(16) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
We must obey (hear subordinately) from THE HEART that form of teaching which was delivered to us.
(17) But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
When we do this (obey from THE HEART), we are then made free from THE (definite article) sin.
(18) Being then made free from (THE) sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
(19) I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
(20) For when ye were the servants of (THE) sin, ye were free from righteousness.
The fruit of serving THE sin is death….our mortal deaths. The wages of THE sin is the death….death of the mortal body. The fruit of "those things" (handwritings) is death....and when we realize this, we are to be "ashamed" of them as we were once slaves of the sin by them when we served and worshipped them.
(21) What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
(22) But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
(23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We must keep ourselves from "idols"....that is, IMAGES. The Son of God comes to give us an understanding so that we may know Him who is true...even in HIS Son Jesus Christ. Let us no longer serve their "son" in the keeping of the image.
1Jn 5:20-21
(20) And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
