Ok, strange question :)

I've got Ubuntu Server 11.04 Running on a Gateway DX4350-UR22P

Now this box has a HDMI Out, that I'd like to use for some development projects, but having it run a Video File or DVD.

Normally this would be simple with a Desktop Environment, but their is No Desktop installed (and we don't really want one) as it's used as a File / Web/ Database server right now.

The Playback would be from Command Line (or Web Interface)

So to our Linux Gurus can this be done easily?
Right now our primary way of interfacing with the system is either FTP for web updates, or Webmin for most other tools.

Given the graphical libraries involved with the desktop GUI I'm not sure this would be possible without installing the GUI... Well, it would be possible but to get all the dependencies met would be much more difficult then just going ahead and installing Gnome.
