  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, I keep trying to figure this out. At the very beginning of U2s 'Vertigo,' Bono shouts out "Uno, dos, tres, quatorce!" Excusing my cruddy spelling, this means, in spanish, "One, two, three, fourteen." Fourteen? What?

What's up with that?
i'm not sure why he skips to fourteen... i noticed that too.

Not completely sure about this but I heard that he skips to 14 because Steve Lillywhite produced their first 3 albums and then didn't came back until this one...the 14th.
interesting.

lillywhite is a good man. seriously. he produced DMB's three most amazing albums. He's worked with U2. He's currently working on Jason Mraz's new album. And whenever i hear a good album, i look on the back, and his name is printed there. He's just an all around good producer.

Say, anyone know where a girl could find a complete list of the albums he has produced?
I dunno if it's a full list, but http://www.allmusic.com/ has three pages worth of albums he's produced.

There hasn't been any confirmation what it means. It's been discussed "heavily" among U2 fans that It means the 14th album or the 14th verse of a bible chapter. And even Macewindu's post on Steve Lillywhite doing the first three albums then the 14th, the list goes on.

I'm just going to wait until Bono is asked this question in an interview somewhere. ;)

His on interference.com I signed up there last week.

You did? Awesome! My name is the same as on here.

Anyway as to answer your question, this new album is the 14th album, so I think the 14 is there to represent the album. Bono has stated numerous times that this album is thier "first" album, the album they have always wanted to make.
