SDA: God created everything in six days and rested on the seventh day.

Nondenom: God did not create everything in six days, He created everything in a half a dozen days and then He rested.

SDA: God's people will keep the commandments, including the fourth, because they love God.

Nondemon: We are not under the Law but lying, stealing murdering and so on is a sin.

SDA: Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man.

Nondenom: The Sabbath was not made for man.

SDA: Jesus said He was Lord of the Sabbath.

Nondenom: Sunday is the Lord's day.

SDA: When people die they rest in the grave until the resurrection.

Nondenom: No they don't, my grand mother died, may she rest in peace, is in heaven.

Do you see how silly it is to discuss light with someone who can't see? It just goes round and round.

My initial purpose in finding this forum was hopefully to discuss topics and issues amongst fellow Adventists and to encourage one another as we enter into the time to soon come.

Hasn't been the case so far, been busy trying to defend my faith...

But on a positive note, my armour is a little brighter

People who twist the truth or who have their belife system built on sand challenges me to build a solid reply packed with Scripture support. This really helps me in my studies but too bad the truth hardens the hearts of those that have no light in them. Either way, the seeds of truth and life must be planted.

The sabbath was made for man (Exodus 31).

Nondenom: Sunday is the Lord's day.

When Paul used the phrase "the Lord's day," he didn't specify which day it was.

Nondemon: We are not under the Law but lying, stealing murdering and so on is a sin.

The principles that are important to the Holy Spirit include principles relating to rest and worship. They also include principles relating to having no other Gods and no graven images. They also include principls relating to lying stealing, murdering, bearing false witness and coveting. They also include principles relating to circumcision of the heart, worship of the true Passover Lamb, reverance, celebration of the completion of atonement and recognition of the Ultimate Sacrifice. We can find these principles throughout the Scriptures -- even among practices that none of us observe.

Thanks for laying out a few issues and how some SDA members interact with other Christians. Green will illustrate the lies that some SDA say about other churches.

The scriptures in Gen 1-2:3 ends the dialog about each of the 7days of creations and when God rested. So, the truth is that most Christians claim that God created the worlds in six day and rested on the seventh.
SDA teach that man was given rest at creation along with the ten commandments.

Why did God remain silent about a creation instituted sabbath if Moses did not write about it?

Jesus, biblical prophets and apostles articulated the words of Genesis without adding a law that included the sabbath to it. Who should we believe about what happened in creation?
Why is the Gospel about Jesus and not God's sabbath?

Obviously we're not being heard on this issue. Most SDA wont ask real questions to know what we believe about sin and the law. Saying we approve of sinful acts is how some SDA often define other Christians.
Truth is, they often plug their ears and quote a Catholic priest from 1800s to fabricate why we worship on Sundays.

The major questions about this issue is taught in the book of Romans Rom(2) and Galatians Gal(3) that Gentile Christians "..we're not under the law".

Why dont we walk through these lesson rather than hear commentary on isolated text and keyword???

I admire this request, ECR. It is one of the more positive and productive suggestions that I've seen lately. I don't expect that you'll agree with Crib's response (nor do I particularly care whether you do). However, at least Crib can provide his point of view without being assigned beliefs that aren't really his.

The infinite commentary that deluge these questions does not take into consideration the context and try to explain these scriptures.

The fact in this matter is, Christ is defending and justifying His possition as greater than the High Priest, to those who accused Him about breaking the Sabbath.
If the setting was about Christ teaching His apostles, we could claim what He taught as how to walk.

The setting was clearly : Jesus responding to accusations by Pharisees who had authority to interpret the law and jail all lawbreakers.
Mat 12:1At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn,
and to eat.
Mat 12:2But when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
(They accused)




Mat 12:3But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
(Christ replied to them)
Mat 12:4How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
Mat 12:5Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Mat 12:6But I say unto you, That in this place is [one] greater than the temple.
Mat 12:7But if ye had known what [this] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Mat 12:8For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

It seem clear that Christ is claim that He is greater than those who profane and unlawfully eat the shewbread.


Another fact in this issue is,...... all ceromonial laws was in force until Jesus died on the cross. (dont get mad because we believe sabbath was a sign and therefore nailed to the cross)

In this same incident in Marks gospel adds...
Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

When we put the context in play, It appears to me that Christ is not quoting doctrinal imparitives as some SDA commentary are claiming from these verses. Christ is not saying that Sabbath was given at creation to mankind, but rather, Sabbath was not given to put a man in bondage but rather for their refreshment and.... I'm the boss, I'm exempt.

Ive edited my posts in this thread, but the OP is full of falsehoods about other churches.
It's one thing to believe that the sabbath was given at creation, it's another thing to make it biblical truth.

Personally Crib, I would rather you speak from your heart to what you believe than copy and paste 'facts' from scripture. I know you are big on scripturally backing everything up but most of us will know the passages you are adhering to through your testimony, you have posted them at least once, I'm sure...

And then we draw warnings and sanctions because we defend our faith--which is why I stopped coming here for so long. And I see nothing has changed in the interim.

Yes--it is always the Holy Spirit who brings us to truth. I fear for those whom the Holy Spirit has tried and tried to bring to truth and yet they reject and reject the Light. As the text says, 'they prefer the darkness".

BTW--I do appreciate your posts. RND is a good friend and an able debater and I'm sure you and he will spread much truth in this arena. God speed!

Herein lies the problem. some SDA believe nonadventist live in darkness and they're in the light

but yet still........Attacking and name calling is not the way to have peaceful dialog. (primary objective of CF)
We all draw warnings and santions when we engage in a confrontational manner. (Forum's commandments seem quite reasonable )

It's a shame to accuse other churches of loving darkness because they dont embrace the sabbath issues as you do. You should hear their argument before accusing and misrepresenting what others believe.

The default is to run off or get nasty when you cant present truths.
