How many times have you heard this: "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you?" Sometimes that's easier said than done. Sometimes we let our emotions get in the way. Sometimes we want revenge for the wrong against us.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:38-42 how to handle these situations. Repay the wrong with a right. If someone brings grief to you, bring joy to them. How about, instead of stooping to the level they are attacking you from, bring them up to a level that they can see the goodness. Pull them from the darkness, and into the light.
In 1 Samuel 24 we find two main characters, King Saul and David. Saul had an immense hatred for David that lasted several years. David, through God, was praised by the people more than Saul. This angered Saul, and long story short, Saul tried to kill him several times. As it turns out, David had his chance for revenge, but opted to repay good for evil.
We need to be like David. When someone does us an injustice, try to do something nice. Who knows, it could be just the nudge that person needs to come to faith in Christ.

For some folks, it almost comes naturally to follow the "Golden Rule"..others have a hard time, others don't even try..I like to think that I'm in the first grouping, yet at times I have to catch myself from stooping to other people's level. What I guess I'm trying to say, is none are perfect, but it is possible to try to live as our Savior would want us to.
