I agree though I would say most evangelical theology is garbage and throughout CF and other forums heresy abounds in spades

sorry, I should not talk this way...it could be against forum rules...
ThanksYour much nicer than most protestants that I have met on CF, most (not all) will just shun a catholic and they show no love when talking about catholics.
Yeah I'm afraid to even encounter a Christian in real life unless I know they're OK with Catholics...I have a phobia of zealous Christian missionaries who seek Catholics out to convert them...even though I'm not officially Catholic...imagine if I were, the phobia would be worse...
I don't know. Even when I thought I didn't see eye to eye with something in Catholicism, I never thought that Catholics weren't Christians....It's ironic how we are supposed to practice what we preach, yet I smell animosity when I tell them I am a Catholic. What happened to love your neighbors?
I am so, so careful. I don't dare teach or correct. I just listen patiently for something compatible with Catholic theology to come out, and say "yep!"ThanksI'm afraid to even encounter a Christian in real life unless I know they're OK with Catholics...I have a phobia of zealous Christian missionaries who seek Catholics out to convert them...even though I'm not officially Catholic...imagine if I were, the phobia would be worse...
That's wonderful Gracia!Mercifully, my husband is reading what seems to be an excellent book by an Anglican clergy man, which seems to be gently steering him towards seeing salvation as a journey, which also involves how we live.

It really does seem to be a uniquely good book. A Catholic publisher even came out with an edition, and when you have a book that reverberates so deeply across Christian lines, you must have a good book.
Yeah, I'm pretty encouraged! It may take years, but slowly, the more I back off, the closer my husband inches, slowly, towards agreeing with what the Church teaches and does. We'll see. I'm hopeful! Yay!That's wonderful Gracia!

Yeah, me, too. It's a journey. He has decades of misinformation, bad theology, propaganda, and dislike to work through. In the mean time, I'm trying to quietly live out what I've been able to figure out so far, and be a decent wife. Thank you, Michie, for your prayers and support, and for letting me hang around on here!Praying God opens his eyes.
12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
14Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” c Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. 17But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. 18So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.
