  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The term two-faced means:

Insincere and deceitful.

Over the last few years Jesus Christ has revealed to me persons who are deceptive and deceitful. This is where they talk to you like a friend, a concerned family member but they talk about you behind your back and really can't stand you. Most (in my estimation about 99 % or more) which includes celebrities, former classmates, former friends, former co-workers, family members, people who I have encountered, are two faced and what these persons don't realize is that I know exactly who they are.

The reason why I say the above is to warn genuine Christians that not because a person treats you nice that doesn't mean that person doesn't hate or despise you or have an ulterior motive. You need to pray asking Jesus Christ to reveal who the insincere persons around you are, so that you don't trust them blindly and end up in problems later on.

Below is a Christian newsletter about the same situation I describe above:

I believe that most Christians do not recognize a "Judas." The same dilemma is now occuring in Iraq as U.S. soldiers are trying to identify the real enemy. Who is the real terrorist when they all look alike? So the real question is, "Who is a Judas?" and, "What does a Judas look like?" The answer to the question is probably going to shock many of you. It is usually not a stranger or the "Big Bad Devil." The traitor is usually a trusted family member, friend or associate; in most cases, someone the victim knows and trusts.

It s possible some people just get nervous in social situations and speak without thinking and maybe even say things they don't mean. We're all probably guilty of that at one point or another. Best advice I ever heard from a school principal addressing the incoming freshman was 'believe half of what you see, none of what you hear.'

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Mat 11:15

Yeah, I agree with this. Sometimes, what is said without malice is taken by others and used in ways it wasn't intended.

(I like your tag-line, by the way. I laughed the first time I read it. If all people were as forthright as David was, probably we wouldn't have to consider about people being deceptive and deceitful).

Many times it's more than words. And it can damage you if you begin seeing yourself the way enemies do. This is why we need to see ourselves in God's sight, for better or for worse, because you'll have a true reflection of yourself no matter how distorted the view others might have of you.

This happened to Job whose "friends" sized him up and reflected their low views of him back into him. (I assume condescending compliments and all). But in the end Job recognized himself as God saw him so it didn't matter how others saw him.

Oh. Do not worry about offending the sensibilities of those uncircumcised philistines. Such ones exist only to be slain by we Davids of the world, so we can rescue the princesses and win the game. :p

It's sad when you finally realize who people really are.

I was engaged to a women once. Then there was a dispute with one of my neighbors and she took the neighbors side over mine. So that was the end of her. I do not need to be married to the enemy. "If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand." Mark 3:25

Thank you. This is an important warning. As a general rule, it's good to not trust someone too soon, but to take your time.

The Holy Spirit has been addressing a similar issue with me and asking me to separate myself from wrong connections. Most recently, He revealed that I was being poorly treated by two people. On the surface it didn’t appear that way. But He knew their hearts.

In one case, He mentioned the person’s hidden anger, unforgiveness, and mind games. I was given scriptures to pray and spiritually renewed after doing so.

He’s protected me from back biting and envy by directing me to a mastermind when our business group members behaved unkindly to successful testimonies.

While He encourages me to treat others with love and kindness, that doesn’t mean betrayal or being ill used by others.
