Wow, I'm surprised no one has started a post on Twilight since it's been out several days already.

Personally, I liked the movie. My daughters have liked the books. My younger daughter just adores the vampire/human love story in this one and I thought the movie was pretty good though I haven't read the books yet and can't tell how close to the books the movie actually is. My daughters say it's close but not very close. I found it a bit more angsty than I thought it would be, but not tediously so.

I'm almost done with the 4th book, I totally loved all the books and highly recommend them. But I thought the movie was kinda lame. I think they could've done a lot better with it.

I found out later that neither the Bella or Edward actors had heard of the books before they did the movie.

That's not true. They read the books before shooting started. They say that in almost all of their interviews. If you go to hisgoldeneyes.com (or .net, I can't remember) you can look at their interviews.

But they hadn't before they got the jobs

"Steward tells Us she had not read (or even heard of) the book before her audition" - Us weekly
And Pattinson said the same thing on a tv interview that I saw.

That's cool...but they said they used the book to figure out how they wanted to act out the movie. They read the script and liked it and then read the book. Steward said she read the book after she got the part and that she wants to read each book before she does each movie. Rob said after he got the part, he read all four of the books.

If you read Midnight Sun (which Rob was given before filming begun) you could see why he acted the way he did.

I haven't read Midnight Sun... I don't want to get all into it and then not be able to finish it!!! :( I'll wait til she publishes it.

I guess I just didn't like the acting very much. Some parts were amazing; the baseball scene was awesome. I wish it would've lasted longer. Some parts; the forest scene were just way too cheesey and ugh!

You should read the Partial draft of Midnight Sun on Stephenie Meyer's website. She said she will not finish the book because someone leaked it and that made her angry. She put the partial draft on her website so people would not download it illegally.

And I agree with you, I didn't like the acting very much, but I did love Bella's friends. They were hilarious.

Having read all the books plus Midnight Sun as well as getting the soundtrack and score CDs, I went and saw Twilight on Sunday. One thing I noticed was there were times when I felt sorry for Edward (it didn't happen when I read the books). Maybe it was the way Robert potrayed Edward...

My wife loves it. I really hated it, but I don't like the whole vampire thing.

It gives me the creeps.

I think there is some good morality hidden underneath all of the outward show stuff... so do not get me wrong. I do not think it would be so popular if it were otherwise.

(Look at work from cultures not Christian... which of those have changed the world or get world wide attention.)
