turning off email alerts

Is there a way to keep alerts on the forum, but not have it go to your email?

There should be an option under Preferences tab in your profile. There's a bit that says "automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...", and underneath that a check box that says "and receive email notifications of replies". Uncheck the "receive email notifications of replies" box and you should be good to go.
