I was working in for a man who was illegally working under another man's contracting license. Both men broke law to do this. One is Christian, I don't know about the other.
My question is, what does God require of me? I have the proof required that if submitted will convict both these men. Do I turn them in, or not?
It will mean considerable hardship for both. One may have his license suspended for a length of time (or permanently lose his license and thereby his business), the other (the Christian)... well I just don't know what would happen to him. I would imagine huge fines. I don't know if he would get thrown in jail for awhile or not.
Opinions? Scripturally based would be preferred.
sister, as one that has never sinned against God. yes by all means turn them over to the judge.. wait.. aren't you also a sinner and didn't Christ also show you mercy? yes.. thats right.. why not do the right thing then.. if the man is a true christian. he will certainly find conviction within himself.. the Spirit that God places in the believer will convict this man.. if he isn't convicted. you would do well to leave this to God to work out for the good of this man.. please, pray for him.. this way you are ultimately going to the Judge, and yet excercising God's mercy, all at the same time.. remember, it was while we were sinning against God. that He reached out with His loving mercy and poured out His Grace upon us.. i also wanna add this.. if you do decide to trip this man up.. remember that the stone you throw, will cause many ripples in the sea of this man's life.. it could affect his relationship with his family, and the community. it could destroy him.. again, are you without sin? in Christ.. dale
