Chip Implanted in Mexico Judicial Workers
Mexico's Attorney General Rafael Macedo caused a stir in many prophecy circles with the announcement that he and 160 members of his staff had been fitted with microchip implants. The chips were manufactured by VeriChip Corp., a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions Inc. of Palm Beach.
Macedo told reporters the implants would give them exclusive and secure access to a national database for crime information. "It's an area of high security, it's necessary that we have access to this, through a chip, which what's more is unremovable," said Macedo.
Several news articles have falsely reported that the chips would enable the wearers to be located anywhere in the event of a kidnapping. They cited figures indicating some 15,000 kidnappings taking place each year in Mexico. Applied Digital Solutions eventually hopes to market a device that can track someone's physical location.
Because the VeriChip appears to be a forerunner to the predicted implant the Antichrist will use to control the global economy, it has caught the attention of prophecy students. No technology gap needs to be closed before implementation. The features in the current chip can easily be used as the mark of the Beast.
"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six" (Rev. 13: 16-18).
The only thing lacking is the right political or social environment that would compel people to "get chipped." The public's expectance of a microchip implant will be the main factor in moving us closer to a wider usage of ID technology.
The casual manner in which the liberal media covered the story was a good indication of how conditioned we've become in accepting chip implants. All the news stories I can find on the VeriChip had no concerns about Big Brother using it for a sinister purpose.
The Bible has strong words to say about the mark. Because the Antichrist will require an oath of allegiance to be taken with his unholy number, the Word of God warns that anyone who willingly receives it will be eternally damned.
"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name" (Rev. 14:9-11).
Anyone who finds salvation after the rapture will be in a life-and-death struggle.
Once the 666 mark is implemented, Christians will have no way to financially support themselves.
Even if their bank records indicate they are millionaires, the requirement to have the implant would leave them as poor as church mice.
Because the mark of the Beast system will create unimaginable levels of hardship, it is so important for people to be rapture ready.
The only way to be certain you are heaven-bound is to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life.
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Cor. 6:2).

Popoff Pops Back Up
A man I thought would be gone forever from the business of faith healing has reappeared. A few weeks ago, I was flipping through the channels and I caught a glimpse of people giving a series of healing testimonies. I quickly realized the man holding the microphone was Peter Popoff.
In 1987, Popoff was exposed by the Amazing Randi to be a complete fraud.
Randi is a magician who specializes in debunking people who claim to have supernatural powers. He is particularly known for his investigations of psychic Uri Geller.
Randi and his team went to a healing service that Peter Popoff conducted at a San Francisco auditorium.
They brought with them a radio receiver that was able to detect the transmissions that guided Popoff in making his "word of knowledge" revelations.
Broadcasting at a frequency of 39.17 megahertz, Popoff's wife Elizabeth would recite information that various audience members had written on prayer cards.
He would pick up the information from an ear piece.
The recorded comments left little doubt about the callous and demonic nature of Popoff's operation.
Here is one example:
"Reeford's got a hot one!" (Laughter.)
"Reeford's so excited!
He came running in back here and scared us half to death!
You ready for a hot one. Ruby Lee.
She is standing in the far back where there's no chairs. (Long pause) ...Ruby Lee Harris
She's against the back wall.
She's got lumps in her breast. You might want to whisper it - have her walk down! Have her run up there. Run! Oh! Look at her run! (Loud laughter.)
"She's got knots in her breast." (Laughter and giggles.) A home run! A home run!"
Randi broke the news of his findings during an appearance on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show.
Once the revelation of Popoff's skullduggery was released to the public, a firestorm of media coverage caused his Upland, California-based empire to quickly implode.
Now that nearly two decades have passed, it would appear that Popoff is hoping people have forgotten about his evildoings.
The home page for his so-called ministry lists several networks that air his program. I found it very fitting that I discovered his program on the Comedy Central network.
While doing some research for this article, I noticed that Popoff is trying to combat the webpages that contain negative information about him by flooding the search engines with mirror domains.
Once you click on them, they all lead back to the his main site.
I couldn't find any indication that Popoff has reformed in any way.
It appears that he is just picking up where he left off.
As long as the light of truth doesn't spoil his profitable operation, he'll continue fleecing the flock.
Earlier this year I noticed another unrepentant religious con artist named Robert Tilton had boldly returned to the airways.
I see both gentlemen's reemergence as one more sign that spiritual discernment is in rapid retreat.
"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" ( 2 Tim 3:13)

Imagination Running Wild!
Watching TV the other evening (rather, listening to TV, because I'm blind), I emarked to my wife upon hearing a commercial for one of the many products to increase sexual potency in men: "Ten years ago, this sort of thing on television, or even in print, would have been unheard of." I remember, for example, less than 15 years ago (when I could see very well) watching a young woman news anchor on CNN Headline News do a news story. The story involved the use of a condom that pranksters had stretched over the end of a cannon at a military school.
The anchorwoman turned red, lowered her eyes from the camera, and hurried past the story, obviously terribly embarrassed. It was the first such mention of condoms I remember being used over the cable or airwaves. I was amazed at the boldness of such a report. Within a few short years, mentions of condoms were common, while the sexual revolution re-ignited in a big way, and there was increased worry over AIDS, a plethora of other sexually transmitted diseases, and unwanted pregnancies.
Then, the advertisements began to appear regularly in magazines, followed a few years later by advertisements on TV and radio. These ads were for products that dealt with the STDs and unwanted pregnancies. Our culture in America, following Europe's lead, now talks about every aspect of human sexuality, boldly, without a blush by those putting out the stories, or by most of us who see and hear the stories.
Now, sexuality is indeed a human fact of life. One can't deny that. And, most who are for pushing the limits of information about that fact hold forth that if we don't address it, it will just get to our children through the back alley sources, and through unsavory purveyors of smut. By opening up in frank displays of the things attendant to human sexuality, we are to expect the benefit of a more responsible population that deals with the matter in a way that will lead to a higher, more dignified morality. It will make our culture, our way of life, come up to a more enlightened plane, somehow.
Well, it ain't workin' out, folks. All of the TV spots, magazine ads, et al., are just pulling us lower into the sludge of the quicksand of immorality. Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general are the beneficiaries, for the most part, of the desensitization process. Witness the worsening of rap and other music lyrics. Consider the rapid descent of once fresh-faced, squeaky-clean teenie-bopper icons such as Britney Spears] who, after winning the hearts and star-dazzled eyes of young girls, now are wading into the swamp of, to use the old KJV word, lasciviousness.
Every week, something new and more carnally seductive is injected into the American lifestream. I get more than 200 e-mail advertisements per week promising to "enhance" sexual prowess. But, these offerings are now also on early morning TV, both network and cable. Half-hour infomercials talk about subjects that would have been, in that bygone 10 years ago, flabbergasting. How long before these commercial offerings -and much more graphic ones-will be standard fare on prime time? What is bad about sex? Nothing's wrong with sex. Sex is great! God created sex--or else not an individual among us would be here. What is wrong with helping people with problems of a sexual nature? Absolutely nothing --if help is forthcoming from truly qualified health practitioners who use God's Word as the basis for their practice.
The point made here is not a matter of prudishness, but of godly propriety.
God made human sexuality a private matter, between one man, and one woman, in loving relationship, for life, through marriage to each other. Sex is for the private place shared by husband and wife, not for gratuitous exhibition in public places. That's the biblical prescription for how sex is to work in human beings. That's God's way.
But, always it is the same throughout the record of human history. Man determines to do things his way. Never is it more blatantly obvious that people are determined to do what is right in their own eyes than in examining the matter of sexuality.
Always, it comes down--at the end of most any culture's history--to the point that sexuality has become totally perverted. Whether considering the antediluvian population, which God destroyed with water, the people on the plains of Shinar during Nimrod's day, the ancient Greeks, the ancient Romans, or whatever society, the end of it has been upside-down (reprobate) thinking and activity that hastens the demise. Sex is usually the human activity around which most of the perversion revolves. Pompeii and the ruins dug up from the volcanic ash of that area is but one example. Depraved sex acts -especially homosexuality and bestiality- were at the heart of the debased activities depicted in the archeological digs of that society's art and architecture. And, here we are in 21st-century America. The pattern is the same. Same-sex marriage. Can you imagine? SAME-SEX MARRIAGE!! What would we have thought and said a couple of decades ago to the proposal?
Speaking of imagining, most Bible students have viewed as profoundly and scientifically significant God's words describing Nimrod's tower-building project at Babel --that man could do whatever he could imagine. That is, mankind would eventually, through perverted minds, produce dangerous scientific achievements, if God didn't intervene and break up that one-world effort to oppose Him.
The Scripture says: "And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city" (Gen. 11:4-8).
Reflecting further on Moses' inspired recounting of the tower project, when God said, "Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do," we can perhaps see our own culture and time staring back at us.
The growing collective imagination of today's America -and for that matter, the world-is set unalterably on doing what is right in our own eyes.
The proof is in the perverting of God-given sexuality.
