Some people have speculated that Biden called for the firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor who was handling the investigation into the company his son worked for in order to protect his son from prosecution. If that were true, that would be a major ethical and legal breach that could then be used against Biden in a future political campaign. Trump requesting that Ukraine look into it as a "favor" in exchange for weapons would be highly illegal.

There are two reasons this it a big deal. The first is the context of the call, which is very mob like. You dont want your President owing a favor to a foreign government.

The second is that this whistleblower complaint was derailed and not given to Congress within seven days. That is the part I have seen more sensible heads lose it on. The fact it was held back is the bigger issue, and the one that would lead to impeachment.

Dont forget, the whistleblower has more items in the complaint. This phone call may be part of a larger pattern of behavior by Trump that Congress will need to act on.

Tulsi Gabbard, by the way, is no conservative. However, she values balance and common sense. She does not just take the most extreme view in order to go along with the Socialist Democrats in her party...which is why she is only polling at 2% at present in the race for President.

It's a sorry commentary on the party of Truman and Kennedy that this is where it has arrived at in our own time.
