Welcome :) I hope this is a short journey for you!

On a different note...why the excess [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] thingie?
Yeah, the more you have sex, the less time you are giving him to build his sperm count back up. Most recommend at least every other day. Like, if you have sex one night... then do it a 2nd time in the same night.. there's going to be A LOT less sperm in it. And if you keep a pattern like this, you never give him a chance to build that back up again. But this can really depend on his sperm count.. if he has a high to normal sperm count... once a day is probably fine. If it's lower than normal to normal.. then you should probably wait every other day. But even in normal counts, if you are doing it too much, it can decrease the sperm count.

 I'm also actively following the thread. We start trying for baby #1 sometime in Sept. From a month of charting, it looks like late Sept.
I hope this isn't TMI but I have only been able to make love with Hubby once in 20 months of marriage without KY jelly:eek: I thought it was because of the pill, but now that I'm off of it, I still need the jelly to get things going. So....I'm going to need some sort of alternative, I suppose. Any suggestions?
By the way, does anyone have pg friends right now? I have two and one of them I work for. It's fun to go through their pg with them and, of course, take a bunch of mental notes for my own time around:thumbsup:

Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology said:
Infertility affects approximately 15% of couples, and in about one-third the primary cause is a male factor. Patients undergoing infertility investigations frequently experience sexual dysfunction, which often is due to inadequate vaginal lubrication. This can lead to increased use of coital lubricants. The effects of such lubricants on sperm motility have not been widely studied, although sperm motility is one of the best prognostic indicators of fertilization. Using a prospective longitudinal control-based study, we analysed the effect of adding four lubricants: KY jelly, baby oil, olive oil and saliva on sperm motion in 16 samples from patients undergoing infertility investigations. Sperm samples were prepared by density gradient centrifugation prior to mixing with lubricants. Motility parameters were determined using computer-assisted sperm analysis after 5, 15 and 30 min. All lubricants except baby oil significantly decreased percentage progressive motility, progressive velocity, curvilinear velocity and lateral head displacement at 12.5% concentration. At a lower concentration of 6.25%, both olive oil and saliva still significantly reduced progressive motility parameters, while KY jelly diminished head movement parameters. Hence, even at these very low concentrations, coital lubricants impair sperm motility and thus may adversely affect fertility.

So try a sperm-friendly lubricant. Ask your GP or local pharmacist perhaps. Alternatively, Google PreSeed to find an online seller in your area :)

So from this information, is baby oil ok then? I can't imagine not using any lubricant at all...
Like Leanna said.. if you need lube.. then try the preseed.. it doesn't kill the sperm. Even oils and stuff without spericide can kill the sperm or lesson it. Natural is always best. I've never tried the green tea thing, but I've never really had any problems.. so I don't know.

:help: I looked up "preseed lubricant" and it looks like this will be pretty expensive. They have preseed applicators (about three dollars a pop) that come with "free" pg tests. There was also "4 vials" for eleven dollars that contain preseed lube. However, it seems to me that I am actually only able to use this stuff once per BD session! In other words, pay eleven dollars for four BD tries. Yikes, that's waaaaay more pricey than good ol' KY. Am I reading this wrong? I hope, I hope....

Here's the link... http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/pre-seed.html

Wow, that is a lot!!... I only heard about that stuff. If you get used to doing it without lube you don't need it really, stay hydrated and not being on the pill you make a lot more natural lube. And there are some different "natural" suggestions you can try besides the one I mentioned if you try to google for some.

WE get to start TTC soon, as we now have a house and well, after my next cycle, which should happen next friday, we can start TTC, that will be two cycles off BC, which is what we agreed on, as well as September for trying, cause I work for the schools near here, and well he doesn't want me to have to work once baby is born, at least through the summer. I am totally stoked. Though the other night he seemed to have doupts, and was like, "but I want to finish useing all the c first." Grr, he drives me nuts at times. But now that we have made known that we are going to start TTC, everyone is full of "helpful" advice. The one we hear the most is, "It will happen when you stop trying."

Hey, I just have a question. Do you tell people around you that you're TTC? Have you told your parents, friends, people at church?
We've told our close friends, but we're so excited that it's hard for us not to tell everyone. Should we be quiet until I'm actually pregnant or should we tell now that we're starting to TTC in September?

We didn't tell anyone except online, because it *can* take a while and then everyone would be asking you and knowing that you're waiting or smoething might be wrong. People could be asking you every month.

I agree in theory, but I have actually told a few offline people (my mother and a few friends) and none of the people I have told rarely pester us with questions or anything.
