  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I got my test results back. They discovered that I have high testosterone and cortisol (sp?) levels which indicates that I probably have PCOS.. this is what they said. . They also called to tell me to go ahead and get on prenatals. But I have to fast tonight and go in for more blood work tomorrow morning for some other things... then have our next appointment Thursday. But they figure they will just put me on a progesterone like provera to start and regulate my cycle and clomid to help ovulation. I'm really nervous and excited at the same time!

It sounds like your specialist is really getting things done! And now you are taking another step in the right direction! I really hope this all works out for you and it doesn't take long!! Good Luck!

How long will you wait before testing?

We were going to wait until Friday, but we have decided to wait until Wednesday morning because Wednesday is my Mum's birthday and we'd like to give her a 'happy birthday Nana' birthday card if we possibly can. That will be 17 dpo, and I usually gt my period on 14 dpo. So I should know one way or the other over the next 24 hours.

lol. I keep running to the loo to check if AF has arrived.^_^

I started taking my temp this morning - it's mid-2WW, but I did it so I'd start getting used to taking it every morning. I wasn't as difficult as I thought - and when I take it on the weekends I don't think it'll be too bad with this new alarm clock I bought.
The buzz starts out quietly and then builds up as time goes on - so if I catch it soon it shouldn't bother DH much at all. There is no back-light on the thermometer which was kinda annoying, but it may work out for the best - less light to annoy hubby.
Awesome. Does your thermometer have a save button? For the, like, three days that I temped earlier this year, I discovered that if I held down the button after the temp was taken it would save the data and I could look at it later when I was more awake and there was more light.

Awesome, glad to hear your getting some answers. Just thought I'd say that I went through the same treatment to fall pg due to PCOS, provera then clomid, and I'm due to deliver my 2nd child in 5 weeks. Hope it goes smoothly for you!

thanks everyone! They ended up combining my appointments to save time and money for us. So we are doing both tests on Thursday morning. Thursday was originally just to test my progesterone levels to see if i'm even ovulating.. cause that will be day 21 of my cycle. So I don't have to go tomorrow.. i get to be drained of all my blood on Thursday now! lol

A quick update on me...

BFN this morning at 17dpo...and still no AF:scratch: I'm stumped. I also worked out this morning that today is cd48 for me:eek:.
Are your cycles usually that long or irregular? Have you seen a dr. about it?

No I haven't seen a doctor about it, but this morning I started to think maybe I ought to. My cycles are usually a bit on the irregular side, I usually get one or two long ones (45 days) a year and the others are about the 35 day mark. I've never had a cycle this long before, and I've never everhad such a long luteal phase. I normally get my period on 14dpo on the dot, and usually at about 7:30am. So after I ovulate I normally run like clockwork.

But I've only had one normal cycle since February when I had a D&C after I miscarried our first...

I'm glad to read about the progress you're making with your doctor. It'll be good to have some assistance with the all important ovulation. Did you have signs that you weren't ovulating??

yeah they aren't sure if I'm ovulating. I'm really confused tonight... This is our first month really watching, charting and counting. We saw the dr. on day 14 of my cycle last thursday.. he toldus to BD for the next 3 or 4 nights... Thursday night through Sunday night... then come in on day 21.. this thursday for a progesterone test.. to see if I ovulate.. so we did that and we are waiting the 3 days now that that time period is over.. so DH can do his sperm Analasys on Thursday morning.. but i'm having EWCM tonight.. so i'm confused on that... does that mean I'm ovulating tonight? Should we BD and put of the sperm analasys for another couple of days? Or just go along with dr's orders and see what happens? Can he still test on day 21 to see if we ovulated even if I ovulated later than he thought I would? Ugh! I'm just so confused and unsure of what to do.

How long are your cycles usually?
A Dr telling you to BD around CD14 doesn't mean you will ovulate then - it's hard to say when you will ovulate. Have you been temping, or charting at all?
Saying you will ovulate on or near CD 14 is just a guess.

I recomend BD now if you have EWCM.

I haven't seen all of your chart...but I never get fertile mucous after I ovulate. I would BD because I would think that the analysis could be done anytime during your cycle. Ie. at a time you know you're not fertile. I'd put off the analysis for a week or two;). The doctor is assuming you have a 'normal' 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14. If it's any help, I've never ovulated that early...ever.

Your mucous should last a few more days though. Why not call the doctor and ask his opinion?
