even if my last period started on 10/30?
but if thats the case, when does temp start going down?

Delayed ovulation can happen, and you said you don't get your period regularly. Generally what would happen if you were to have a 3 month long cycle was you'd have 2 1/2 months of pre-ovulation and then ovulate and then get your period 12-16 days later.... and your temp would go down the day you get your period.

I agree that an accurate temperature relies on taking it at the same time each morning and without moving much, just reach over and grab the thermometer from your side table. Don't even pee first. ;)

But sorry I was really only poking around in here to stalk SOTFB, and I feel like a bit of an imposter

So I have a question for all you ladies who have been TTC for 1+ years.

How many kids do you want? LOL no seriously, weird question I know.

When DH and I first got married we talked about how large we would want our family to be, and how many years between them we would plan. Well at that time we had no idea that we would have to deal with infertility... so our "ideal" was 2 children, 4-6 years apart.

Now things are obviously much different. We were really adamant that we did not want any more then 2 kids, after which dh would get the ol sniparoo... Weird thing is, when I thought I could have lots of kids, I didn't want many. Now that I can't have kids (or at least finding it harder) I want TONS.

Also, when we all get pregnant (and it WILL happen, I know it.) will you all wait to start for more? Or since fertility issues were a problem with the first, will you just start trying right away again?

I mentioned this to DH and asked him what he thought and we both agreed, that since producing 1 is hard enough, we figured we would let God be God and see about doing it a 2nd time after my period comes back (I plan on BFing so we will rely on natural BC, but after the baby is weaned, it's free game.)

Thoughts?

Funny how God has different plans than we do.

This was my "life plan"

Married at 22
1st beebee at 24
2nd beebee at 28/29... b/c I didn't want kids after 30.

So far God isn't listening  LOL.

Until I met my husband, I was really fine with the idea of never marrying and never having kids. But when I met my perfect guy, all of a sudden, my biological clock engaged! So... I'm starting later than you, but my plan looked something like this:

Age 29 - marry
Age 30 - baby #1
Age 33 - baby #2

I turned 31 the other day, so I'm already behind. I want to be done with my baby having by the time I'm 35. My desire for kids hasn't changed - I'd still like two, but I'd be so grateful for just one. And if a third one inserted itself into the picture, I'd be thrilled with that, too. I'm willing to take things one baby at a time. ;)

How many kids do you want? LOL no seriously, weird question I know. Ever since I was in middle school, I wanted at least 6 kids.... after getting married and talking about kids with dh, he has always thought about 3 but is open to just taking it one step at a time.

Also, when we all get pregnant (and it WILL happen, I know it.) will you all wait to start for more? Or since fertility issues were a problem with the first, will you just start trying right away again? I have always wanted many, I will be happy and thankful for whatever the Lord chooses to bless us with, it's not up to me! If it's one, four, seven... I will be happy!

It's hard waiting on something that you really want and having no clue when you'll get it but I very hoepful and I know that it will all be okay....

I’ve had to alter plans over and over again – I guess that’s God’s way of telling me that he’s in control.

I had planned on having at least one child by the time I turned 30 – we’ll even if I got pregnant today I would be 31 before the child would be born.

I have always said that I want 3 children, and hubby has said 2 – I figure we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it, but now that I’m having a hard time getting pregnant I feel like you Fishy and I want more than 3. I want a houseful of kids. I feel like I’m becoming quiverful – but I’m not sure that I fit the definition, since I am seeking out treatments for why I’m not pregnant.

I think it depends on if I end up pregnant soon (shortly after starting metformin) or if it takes awhile, with IUI, etc. If it takes a while we will probably start trying again right away – or at least not preventing at all. If I get pregnant in the next couple of months we may hold off trying for another baby for a little bit – at least to give my body some time to recover.

My perfect plan was to be married by 22, which I was (actually at 21) - and have our first child at 24... well, I just turned 25 so that's obviously not going to happen. We've discussed 2 or 3 children, and we wanted them at least two years apart, but I just don't know anymore. I think I'm going to wait until I finally get pregnant before I come up with a new plan. I can't believe I'm using the word "plan" when I'm talking about ttc ;) obviously nothing can be planned the way I want it... lol!

Hmm.. so lately I've been watching a lot of Christmas specials on TV. The two latest I've seen were about (1) a newborn baby boy being kidnapped from the hospital and (2) a young father fighting for custody of his newborn son. These two shows especcially have gotten to me. What I'm trying to figure out is why all of the Christmas specials all of a sudden with newborn baby boys?? I always thought I would have a girl first... but these shows are really affecting me... I think I cried throughout most of them... maybe it's a sign that I'll be pg soon w/a little boy?? Lol - I know I'm just grabbing at straws here... but I need something, like a sign or something, just to give me a little hope... so maybe this is it... Not really just the fact that tv shows happen to be on with babies - but the fact that they affected me so much... hmm.....

Is anyone else losing their mind like I am?? LOL!! :)
Must be the Christmas season.. :)

I see no one has been in here lately... is everyone just getting as frustrated as I am? :)

I finally (this took two months, can you believe it??) got my blood test results back. Everything came back normal except the anticardiolipin - they said it should be 0-9 and mine is 12. I don't really know what that means - only that it is a blood clotting disorder... I tried to get online and research it but didn't find much - so my actual doctor is supposed to be calling me back to explain more. They said that it is known to cause recurrent m/c - and that if I get pregnant again, I would need to take baby aspirins... I'm sure I'll be asking her when she calls, but does anyone know anything about this?? How worried should I be about other problems besides just pregnancy issues? I read somewhere that fertility drugs and birth control don't help this disorder any - and I've taken both - so did I cause problems by doing so?? And can this affect your chances of conceiving?? Because if so, shouldn't I be taking the aspirin now?

Ditto about the baby asprin. My doc put me on it and also said anyone who is TTC should be on baby asprin.
Why should all TTC women use baby aspirin? Even if we don't have any know disorders? I am just curious. We're going to be TTC in the next few months, and I want to be very prepared!

The best way to prepare for TTC is by seeing your doctor and having a complete check up. That's what I did :) That's what most people will recommend. When I saw the dr before we started TTC she put me on folic acid and baby asprin.

Jenrenee! In a weird way, this is good news. Because now you know what is going on and your doctor can probably do something about it:clap:

I think so too! I was actually excited that they found something wrong - how crazy is that?? :D

and they are kinda my highlight of my morning meds - I got the cherry chewables :)

LOL!! I went out and got some, but they are just the boring ones ^_^ so now i'm taking them and the prenatals every day.

I feel better hearing that your drs told you anyone ttc should be on them... I'm just really hoping that this helps me!
