Well I think I may have figured out what could be preventing a BFP- I can't believe I didn't notice it but someone on another TTC board mentioned that my Luteal phase is kind of short- where the ideal minimum is 12, and it looks like mine is 10-11. Which is not good.

:( If I don't conceive this month I will be calling my Dr. We've been trying for going on cycle #7 or 8 (Can't remember) and now that I've figured out this whole short LP bit, maybe I have a better chance of being seen before the 1 year mark.

Anyway since I figured this out, I could possible test as early as Thursday. So hopefully I get my BFP so I don't have to face the decisions of things like Clomid or Famara

I just received the aimstick pregnancy test that I got from Babyhopes.com. It came with a little plastic baggy of *babydust.* I
thought that was too cute and wanted to share. Tomorrow I will be taking the test if TOM still isn't here.

SOTFB I am praying it is your month! :prayer:

Babydust to you all!

just wanted to encourage you... I took clomid to conceive my 2nd, and I had no side effects, except a perfectly healthy beautiful boy nine months later. It was so easy... a pill each day for 5 days and I finally ovulated. My cousin it took 2 rounds... same good results no side effects. It was very non-invasive and I was impressed with the reading I'd done on how it works... its not too scary at all. Anyway, I know not every lady has the same experience but wanted to share in case anyone is fearing what may be a blessing.
Prayers for you

Hi bookwormprincess I have been trying since August 060 but I have had long irregular cycles forever, i came off the pill in Jan 06 so it's been a yr off that, which is what i told the Dr. In uk ur suppose to be ttc for a yr before they refer you and everyone but everyone will tell you to go to the Dr's and say you've been ttc for a year, but also because i have those dodgy cycles she was up for referring me anyway.

Hoping for a bfp for you SOTFB and Worknprogress, they sounded like some nice tests you got with the babydust! I just got sent the tiniest little hpt sticks i have ever seen - still reading BFNs mind u so that takes away the cuteness just a touch... ;)

THank you chillybean it's good to know that clomid worked so well for you and your cousin. What i was wondering is how do you know what 5 days you're supposed to take it?

they tell you when clomid is prescribed. For me I think it was day 2 until day 7 of my cycle. Then they gave me daily ultrasounds starting on day 10 to ensure that I ovulated and when. They told me precisely when to go home and bd too. Sooooo... voila. No guessing games there!

aww sorry worknprogress, there's obviously a much more perfect time for you (even tho we all want it to be now for yoU!)

Thanks chillybean. I'm going for my blood test this morning to see if i'm producing eggs i think (not entirely sure!) but supposedly the results wont be in for a month! bummer!
I'm being referred to the fertility clinic so i'm not sure if they'll give me the results or my GP will. Need to do some more waiting i suppose. I'm glad clomid works tho, you've settled my nerves with that one!

Have a great day everyone

Thank you, that is sweet! Good luck with your blood test, and let us know how it goes. Actually I had a :doh:moment this morning, and I think I know why my cycle was so long. I recently started an exercise regime, and am working out every day. I forgot that exercise can delay your period. Oh well, even if it takes awhile, I'll be in better shape for it. At least thats what I'm telling myself. Plus I know that even though May will be my one year mark for trying, it will also be one year since I stopped BC and it can take a year after you get off of it. I just don't have much patience. Maybe the Lord is trying to teach me something.

Good luck SOTFB, and baby dust coming your way.

 Hi ladies. Just thought I would pop in and say hello since hubby and I are TTC as of January.

Short history: Went off BC shortly after getting married in '99. Nothing...nothing. In early '02 had an HSP and found out both fallopian tubes were completely blocked. Shortly afterward I had a successful  recanalization of my tubes and conceived in early '03. Again in '04. Now TTC after a breather and 2+ years of the horrible awful barrier method.

God bless you all. I see lots of awesome fellowship and encouragement going on here

Welcome littlesister

SOTFB did you do your test? how did you get on?

I got my blood test so the nurse said i should call back in 2 weeks just to see if the results are in altho for the test i got (which i'm not 100% sure what it was - think it was to see if i was producing eggs - GPs over here don't tend to do a beta blood test to determine a pg unless it's ectopic - which means i'm left hanging!) usually takes longer for the results to be back.
It took ages to get the test done cos the receptionist told me to wait in the wrong waiting area so i missed my appt! BUt she rejigged things and the nurse took me thankfully!

Funnily enough fertility friend has recorded a triphasic chart, impantation spotting and there's a dip too. All perfect for a pg with the exception that i keep gettin BFNs!!

ANyways hope you are all having a lovely day

Well I should have started my period today and I didn't. I've been right on time, to the day, since I started charting my cycle. We're supposed to be starting to ttc in 12 days, so I'm not supposed to be pregnant, but I am getting sick in the mornings (!). Should I wait for a few days before testing do you think?

It may, of course, be wishful thinking. I've had flu so it could be to do with this. It would be good if I were pregnant though because it would take the pressure off my husband. He's very anxious about trying.

I'm praying that I am pregnant. I'll keep you updated

SOFTB i'm sorry you got a BFN. But like I said to WNP there must be an even more perfect time for you.

Maharg if you are late for your period you can test. Many tests can be effective up to 4 days BEFORE your period is due, since you're pretty regular and your past the date that af would normally come i would say that it is safe for you to try a test.

Let us know how you get on.

xx

Ok this is confusing, so I thought I would ask you ladies if you have any idea of what could be going on with me. The day I said that TOM started I had very little bleeding, but that is normal for me for my first day. I haven't had any bleeding at all since then. I am perplexed.

Could be from your new exercise routine. Intense physical activities have been known to cause missed periods. Perhaps you have hcg that is just not high enough yet for a standard HPT to pick up. I dunno.
