trying to start a collection

Hi everyone,
I've recently starting getting more into Christian music, but don't really know of that many bands. My favourite group at the moment is Third Day (absolutley amazing!)- what else could you recommend? Cheers
PS: i'm not really into the punky bands like POD etc.

I absolutely love Third Day. Sonicflood is also good. Caedmon's Call, Passion, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redmon.

The music of Rich Mullins is just awesome. I also like Keith Green.

There's a band that's no longer together, but their CD's are still available--Big Tent Revival. Good stuff.

Mercy Me is awesome. I also love some of the ones already mentioned...Third Day, Passion. Casting Crowns is pretty good, too.

Third Day is by far my favorite Christian band.
I also love Chris Tomling. I really reccoment him. Im also a big fan of Jars of Clay, David Crowder Band, Matt Redman, Ten Shekel Shirt, and Switchfoot.

hmmm...well I am a huge 3d fan but I also like dc talk,switchfoot, and a few others...overall 3d is the best...You have made a good choice.

Another thing you might try is picking up a couple of complilation CD's. They are often double CD's, but not double the money. Then you can see the styles of several artists and get an idea if you would like them or not. WOW puts out a lot of these. I have a few of them and they only cost me about $14 a piece.

Good suggestion, CeCe. The WOW albums have LOTS of wonderful songs by all different artists. You see them and other advertised on TV every now and again, but I'm sure you can find them (or something close) in stores as well.
